Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson is a British actress and model who made her mark in hollywood playing Hermione Granger in the popular Harry Potter film series. She was born on April 15, 1990 in Paris, France to British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby and Chris Watson. She lived in Paris till she was five but moved back to England with her mother when her parents divorced. Watson attended the Dragon School and later Headington School in Oxford and was trained at the Oxford branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts. Emma realized that she wanted to be an actress when she was just six years old. She is quite the lucky girl and landed her first acting at the young age of nine when she was signed for the role of Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter film series. Emma Watson supports Great Ormond Street Hospital charity. It offers life saving medical treatments to more than 100,000 child patients witnessing the rarest, most difficult life-threatening conditions. A part of the hospital’s facility, the charity raises funds for the refurbishment of the hospital, support research of innovative medical treatments to develop cures for childhood illness and offering accommodation to the suffering children and their families.
Emma Watson has also supported Millennium Promise. The mission is of this charity is to end extreme poverty by 2025. In support of this goal, Millennium Promise’s unique focus is to build coordinated action and collaborations among individuals, governments, corporations and non-governmental organizations to address the root causes and symptoms of extreme poverty.
