Hilary Clinton was born in Chicago, Illinios, on October 26th 1947. She was raised in Chicago and then from the age of 3, in suburban area of Illinois. Hillary grew up with two younger brothers, Hugh and Tony. as a child Hillary attended Public schools in Park Ridge, and as a child she was every teacher’s favorite student. She participated in Swimming, baseball, and many other sports and also managed to win numerous awards as a Scout Girl and Brownie. Raised in a politically conservative family, at the age of 13 she helped canvaas South Side Chicago following a very close 1960 presidential election, where she managed to find evidence of electorial fraud against Republican candidate Richard Nixo. Hillary’s early political development was shaped mostly by her high school history teacher and by her Methodist youth minister. Hillary majored in Political Science from Wellsley College. She then entered Yale Law school where she served on the editorial board of the Yale Review Of Law and Social Action.
Hillary served as staff attorney for Edelman’s Newly found Children’s Defense Fund in Massachusetts as a consultant. and by 1974 she was a member of the inquiry staff during the watergate scandal. By the year 1974 she was viewed as someone with a bright political future. In 1977 President Jimmy Carter appointed her to the board of Legal Services Corporation she served in that capicity from 1978-1981 and from mid 1978 to mid 1980 she served as as the chair of the board, the first woman in the history to do so. Post her husband Bill Clinton’s election as Governor of Arkansas in 1978, she became the First Lady of Arkansan in January 1979. In 1979 she became the first woman to be made a full partner of Rose Law firm. From 1978 Hillary and her husband Bill Clinton entered the White House.When Bill Clinton took office as president in January 1993, Hillary Rodham Clinton became the First Lady of the United States, and announced that she would be using that form of her name.After moving to the state of New York, Clinton was elected as a U. S. Senator, in 2000, for New York State. This was the first time an American First Lady had run for public office. Clinton was also the first female senator to represent the state of New York. As a Senator, Hillary supported the Bush administration on some foreign policy issues, including a vote for the Iraq War Resolution. Clinton eventually changed her position and opposed the administration on its conduct of the war in Iraq, as well as most domestic issues. In 2006, Senator Clinton was reelected by a wide margin. Hillary Clinton won more primaries and delegates than any other female candidate in American history, for the 2008 presidential nomination, but lost to Illinois Senator Barack Obama by a narrow margin.
