HIS CHARACTER CALLED ‘LARRY THE CABLE GUY’:

Daniel became enormously famous after developing the Larry character, a personality that he now maintains throughout his stage act. He portrays a stereotypical ‘redneck’ character through Larry. For those who don’t know what redneck is all about; it is used as a disparaging term for a member of the white rural laboring class, especially in the southern United States. Larry is the crude, opinionated and proudly rural Southern persona in the early 1990s. The character gained success for the catchy phrase ‘Get ‘er Done’.

SUCCESS IN COMEDY:

Larry along with Foxworthy went on the “Blue Collar Comedy tour” and that’s where everything started. The two, together with fellow comedian Bill Engvall have made the tour a success as it grossed around $15 million. Also the tour was released as a live comedy DVD which sold millions of copies. Even though Larry had accomplished a lot, he still felt something was missing. He wanted to be on the big screen. In 2006 his dream came true when he brought the Cable guy to cinemas through the movie Larry the Cable Guy: Health Inspector.

After Dr. Chad Price at Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children helped cure their son, Wyatt, of his dysplasia when he was an infant, Whitney and his wife, Cara, made private donations to the hospital and Whitney raised money through appearances on Family Feud and Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader? The hospital opened a new wing called the “Wyatt Whitney Wing” in May 2012.
