Top 1 in the recent list from Forbes is none other than the Lee Family. I think you’ll know them more by their company, Samsung. Yep. That’s right. They own that huge mobile company. No wonder they’re literally swimming with money. They are worth a whopping $29.6 BILLION. Even up to the fourth generation of their family, I doubt they’d  run out of moolah!

The storied family of the Samsung Group derives 35% of their fortune from Samsung Electronics, whose chairman remains in a coma after suffering a heart attack in May 2014. His only son and heir-apparent, Lee Jae-yong, is facing his biggest test yet amid the global recall of Samsung’s Galaxy Note 7 and the subsequent decision to permanently discontinue the new smartphone. Which was a necessary move because of the sudden-exploding risk it gives to the mass. This model of the phone reportedly explodes or burns for no reason at all. Like, it could be lying down on a table turned off and out of nowhere, it would explode. Imagine if you’re holding it and worse, holding it to your ear because you’re talking to someone and it suddenly explodes.

Founder Lee Byung-Chull started a modest trading company in Daegu nearly 80 years ago; his empire has evolved into the world’s largest maker of smartphones and TVs. The conglomerate split into 4 independent entities during the 1990s: Samsung, CJ, Shinsegae and Hansol. Altogether the businesses, led today by second and third generation Lees, bring in around $340 billion in annual sales from electronics and retail to food, entertainment and paper.

This book has forty-eight copies that survived but only 31 of these are perfect. A single leaf sells for £50,000; a complete version would be worth tens of millions of pounds.

This book is one from The Codex Leicester collection of scientific writings by Leonardo da Vinci. The name codex came from Thomas Coke, who later created Earl of Leicester, who purchased it in 1719.

Leonardo had 30 scientific journals, but the Codex may be the most famous of all. Bill Gates bought it in 1994 in New York for more than $30m!

1. Stonyhurst Gospel

The Stonyhurst Gospel, also known as the St Cuthbert Gospel, or the St Cuthbert Gospel of St John, is a 7th-century pocket gospel book which is written in Latin.

The British Library launched a fundraising campaign in July 2011 to buy the book for £9m. It took nine months for the purchase to be completed.

Harbour Bridge was lit up and attracted a lot of people.

The city shone in a range of different colours, evoking the theme ‘city of colour’ – at one point a ravish red.

Just so you know, more than 70,000 ton of fireworks and used and a total of 18 months to plan the pyrotechnic show.

But the event attracts more than 1 million revellers to Sydney Harbour, which makes the cost less than a dollar per person.

Indeed, the world’s most expensive caviar is Almas, from the Iranian Beluga fish. Just a kilo of this ‘pearly white gold’ is sold for $35,000.

Almas, Russian word for diamond, is the rarest type of Beluga available and is taken from the 100-year-old female albino sturgeon. The Beluga sturgeon can take up to 20 years to reach maturity and the fish’s genetic mutation (albinism) is one of the major reasons for the caviar’s rarity. The fish harvested for caviar are often nearly 900 kg. The eggs themselves are the largest of the commonly used roes, and range in color from dark gray (almost black) to light gray, with the lighter colors coming from older fish, and being the most valued. As a general rule, the older the fish, the lighter the color of the caviar and the more exquisite and elegant the flavor is.

Of course, it’s not a surprise that this extremely rare and expensive delicacy is sold by only one outlet, and that is the Caviar House & Prunier in London’s Picadilly which is thought to be the site of the most expensive meal in Britain.

And obviously, it comes in none other than a 24-carat gold beautiful tin.

Just an important thing to remember when eating this emperor-worthy food, never use metal spoon or silver containers as this will ruin the caviar’s flavor. Also eaten by placing it on the skin between your thumb and point finger and then rolled around  the mouth and popped to release the flavor. Goes best with wine or vodka if you’re a purist.
