Birth: March 24, 1976 in New Orleans, Louisiana
Marital Status: Married
Children: 2

The son of former NFL quarterback Archie Manning and the elder brother of New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning, Peyton Manning is an American football player in the national Football League. Peyton spent most of his career playing for Indianapolis Colts and switched to Denver Broncos after the injury in 2012. Manning’s exclusive playing manner has earned him a nickname “The Sheriff”.

Money and Career

Peyton Manning’s net worth is currently estimated at $115 million and his annual earnings as for the year 2012-2013 were $43 million.
Peyton Manning is one of the highest paid athletes in the world both on and off the field. As a member of the Denver Broncos, Peyton commands $18 million per year in base salary. He also has the ability to earn millions more in bonuses and incentives.
Outside of sports, Peyton earns an additional $25 million per year from endorsements, bringing his total annual income to $43 million. He endorses many major brands and frequently appears in television commercials for brands like Buick, Papa John’s and DirecTV. He has extremely lucrative endorsement deals with a wide range of companies including Sony, ESPN, Spring, DirecTV, Master Card, Reebok and Gatorade. Peyton also owns twenty one Papa John’s pizza franchises located in Colorado. He also made his entertainment-world debut as the host of an episode of Saturday Night Live in 2007.
Shortly after beginning his NFL career, Manning founded his charity the Peyback Foundation, whose mission is to help disadvantaged kids.

Manning has an excellent memory for plays and memorized the Colts’ playbook within a week after being drafted, and in 2012 was able to precisely recall the details and timing of a specific play he had used at Tennessee 16 years earlier.
As an author, he has co-authored with his father, Archie and brother, Eli titled: “Manning: A Father, His Sons, and a Football Legacy” released in 2000. In 2009, he again co-authored children’s book with Eli and Archie entitled: Family Huddle, which describes in simple text and pictures how the three Manning brothers played football as young boys. He has donated over $8,000 to Republican politicians, among them Fred Thompson, Bob Corker, and former President George W. Bush.

Early life

Born in a family of a great athlete Archie Manning, a former American football quarterback, who has played for New Orleans Saints for nearly ten years, it seems like Peyton inherited the skills in his blood. Peyton was great at the game since the day he started playing. Already back at high school he has led his team to numerous victories and won various accolades. After graduation Peyton chose to play for the team of University of Tennessee. During the years at university Peyton played 45 games and won 39 of them. Peyton received an invitation to play at the National Football League for Indianapolis Colts right after he graduated from Tennessee.

To date, Peyton is the NFL record holder for most consecutive seasons with over 4,000 yards passing and most total seasons with 4,000 or more yards passing in a career. Peyton lead the Colts to a Super Bowl victory in 2006 against the Chicago Bears. Over his career, Peyton has received dozens of accolades including being a 13 time Pro-Bowl selection and four-time AP NFL MVP.

Unfortunately, Peyton was injured before the start of the 2011 season and was not able to play in a single game. After months of rumors, on March 7th 2012, Peyton Manning was let go by the Indianapolis Colts which made him a free agent to seek new offers. He soon signed a new $96 million contract with The Denver Broncos.

Personal Life

Ashley and Manning

Manning married Ashley, in Memphis on St. Patrick’s Day in 2001. A graduate of the University of Virginia, Ashley was introduced to him by her parents’ next-door neighbor the summer before Manning’s freshman year in college. Settled in his $7.5 million house in Indianapolis, Peyton and his wife Ashley have twins, a boy and a girl(Marshall Williams and Mosley Thompson).
Peyton is a Christian. Manning said his priorities ranked in order are “…faith, family, friends, and football.”
Manning is an example to other athletes that you don’t have to be a celebrity to have a popular brand. He is one of the most marketable people on Earth, yet he does it without tripping up or trying to exploit his personal life for fame.

Quotes

“If nothing else in life, I want to be true to the things I believe in, and quite simply, to what I’m all about. I know I’d better, because it seems whenever I take a false step or two I feel the consequences.”

“I’ve never taken for granted what we’ve had, not for one single game, not one single practice…I’ve truly been blessed.”

“Pressure is something you feel when you don’t know what the hell you’re doing.”

Net Worth: $45 million

Career/Profession: American football player, athlete

Antonio Ramiro Tony Romo popularly known as Tony Romo is an American star who belongs to Dallas Cowboys of NFL (National Football League). He earned this net worth by playing as a football quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys.

Honorable achievements since childhood:

Tony was born on April 20th, 1980 in San Diego, California. His father was a Navy man in the United States and his family lived in Burlington. Since childhood, he has been an athlete and at a very early age he joined Little League All-star team. He started playing for his school team in Burlington High School in 1996. In 1997 he achieved several honors and awards by making records against Demons. He also loved to play basketball, golf and tennis and sometimes used to be in their tournaments too. While he was in college, he played for Illinois Panthers football team and awarded with so many honorable titles. These titles include Walter Payton Award, OVC Player of the week, consensus All-America honors, etc. But due to his return he took retirement from the team and it was really heartbreaking period for him.

His journey with Dallas Cowboys:

Initially Romo was not on the list of Dallas Cowboys instead he was just the trainee under the head coach. Sooner his game was appreciated by the members of the committee and he was forwarded as the holder for the kicks in 2004. But in 2005 and 2006 he replaced quarterback Drew Bledsoe from his position and took that position in his hand. Here is some of his amazing season play:

2006 Season: Replacing Drew Bledsoe he started his first season as a football quarterback against Houston Texans. After few days Bill Parcells declared him permanent for this position. Then he got a chance to play against the Carolina Panthers. He led his team to victory and achieved success. He also led Dallas to win the game against the Indianapolis Colts. Because of his performance in this season he received Galloping Gobbler Award.

2007 Season: This season’s beginning proved to be quite amazing and successful for him. Started with New York Giants then Miami Dolphins he continuously achieved success and led Dallas to the target. In the fifth week of the season Dallas played against Buffalo Bills where Romo throws five interceptions in a single game. His NFL passing rate was 97.4 which were quite good. His agreement with Dallas was about to end during this season so he took an extension for about $67.5 million. End of the season was disappointing for him as Dallas was defeated by the New York Giants.

2008 Season: season’s winning account was opened with the victory over Cleveland Browns where 24 passes for 320 yards was in Romo’s account. He also got severe injuries during this season that needed surgeries. They also got a victory against Philadelphia Eagles, but lost the game when played against the Washington Redskins. There were several ups and downs during this season, but in the end season proved to be worth playing.

Some other ventures he explored:

As his interest was not limited to football instead he was fond of playing basketball, golf and tennis too. Along with footballer he was an amateur golfer too. He got qualified for the EDS Byron Nelson Championship in 2004 and also for U.S Open Championship in 2005. During his free time with Dallas he was seen playing golf. He also made some guest appearance in radio programs related to sports. In 2006 and 2007 he also hosted the show based on Dallas play called as ‘Inside the Huddle’. This show was aired on KLLI radio station.

Personal life:

Romo even was so successful still had a tough personal life. Once it was in news that he was dating Jessica Simpson, who was an actress. She also came to his game which was against Philadelphia Eagles, but unfortunately Dallas lost this game. In 2009 the couple had broken up and got separated. In 2011, he got married to Candice Crawford. She was a Miss Missouri, USA and a journalist. The couple together has a son named Hawkins Crawford Romo.

His Earnings and Deals:

Tony Romo had several deals and contracts with different firms. His biggest deal was worth $ 119.5 million, which was amongst the top 15 deals in the NFL History. His earnings for several years are as follows:

2008: $605,000

2009: $620,000

2010: $8.5 million

2011: $810,000

2012: $825,000

2013: $11.5 million

Contracts:

He signed a 6 year contract worth $67.4 million with the Dallas Cowboys in 2007.

He signed a 1 year contract worth $3.9 million contract with the Dallas Cowboys in 2006.

He signed a 3 year contract worth $920,000 contract with the Dallas Cowboys in 2003.

Endorsement Deals:

His earnings and net worth is not only because of his play, but it also includes some fanaticizing endorsement deals. He has signed a five year contract with Starter, an apparel marketer worth $10 million. He has also some deals with Pepsi. Previously, he used to have some terms with Reebok too, which was worth $20,000 per year.

Quote:

“As a competitor and an athlete, you love that you get to go back and challenge someone, especially the world champs.”

Net Worth: $40 million

Profession/Career: American Football player, Football coach, Commentator, Actor, Businessperson

James William “Jimmy” Johnson popularly known as Jimmy Johnson is a well established American Football coach and former football player. Started his career serving Oklahoma State University then moved on to the University of Miami followed by National Football League. At present, he is involved in Fox NFL Sunday, a pregame show.

Early life:

Jimmy was born on July 16th, 1943 in Port Arthur, Texas. He completed his graduation from Thomas Jefferson High School and took his degree from the University of Arkansas. In this university, he became a part of local football team, which included various high personalities from this background such as Ken Hatfield, Jim Lindsey etc. This team included all the shining stars that became head coaches for the national team afterwards. He was entitled as Jimmy Jump Up during his football practices as he never used to stay down his legs on the ground and always used to jump around. His personal life is quite interesting. He got married to Linda Kay Cooper in 1963 and the couple together had two sons. They got separated in 1990. Again in 1999, he tied knot with Rhonda Rookmaaker.

Back to back shifting:

He started his journey in 1965 being an assistant coach at Louisiana University. Followed this position he planned to make a shift from this university to Memorial High School in Mississippi. In 1967, he was offered to train a team at Wichita State University. In 1970 he took a transition from assistant coach position to line coach at the University of Oklahoma. Here he got the opportunity to work for Chuck Fairbanks and Jim Dickey. In 1973, he served Arkansas University as defensive coordinator. He was in a hope that he would be declared as the next head coach after the retirement of Broyles but all the efforts were in vain. In 1977 and 1978 he served the University of Pittsburgh as the assistant coach. He used to train Hugh Green, Randy Holloway, etc. And came into contact with Dave Wannstedt. In 1979, Oklahoma State kept him busy for five seasons till 1983.

His journey with various teams:

University of Miami: Replacing Miami’s former coach Howard Schnellenberger Johnson took the responsibility of the team in his hand. His initial start was really fantastic with his record of 8-5 on the very first season. He was there with the team for five years, giving them the record of 52-9 and won the national championship. During his reign he gave full freedom to his players where they were allowed to show their talent in each and every field. The team of Miami lost several games during his tenure and due to this various question was raised on his coaching capabilities. He was also chosen as the Hall of Fame for the University of Miami in 1996.

Dallas Cowboys: In this he replaced Tom Landry and headed the team as its head coach. After joining this team he led the Dallas to the Championship league several times. He remained as the coach till 1993. He had written his name in the history of the NFL who led his team to Super bowl for consecutive two years, i.e. 1992 and 1993. He made several records during his tenure with Jerry Jones but finally they both decided to separate due to some clashes.

Miami Dolphins: in 1996 Jimmy after getting experienced as a TV analyst worked as a coach for Miami Dolphins replacing Don Shula. During the tenure of Don, Miami had a very low expectation year (1995) so they all were happy to find Johnson as his replacement. But his winning percentage was only 55.3%, which was lower than Don Shula. In 1999, he gave his resignation letter from Miami but after one day he again took back that position.

Worked as TV Analyst:

His interest towards analyzing each and every minute detail of the game took him to pursue his further career in the Television Industry. After resigning from Dolphins he started working as a TV analyst for the FOX Sports channel. At present he is engaged in Fox NFL Sunday as on-air member. On the Fox Channel he was seen as a host along with Chris Rose in the Bowl Championship Series. He also worked as guest actor in various shows such as The Shield, Johnson wreckers and also in the movie The Waterboy. Johnson was the big time fan of Survivor: Nicaragua show earlier so he gave the auditions for its new season and got selected. This was its twenty-first edition in late 2010 of which he became the part. But unfortunately he was voted out on its eighth day and got 18th rank overall.

Endorsements, property and his assets:

Net Worth: $145 million

Career/Profession: American Football Player, Entrepreneur

Currently working as the General Manager and vice president of Denver Broncos Football Operation of the National Football League (NFL), John Elway is a retired American Football player in 2012. He has an estimated net worth of about $ 145 million. He is currently the chairman of AFL Committee and the co-owner of the Colorado Crush, Arena Football Team.

Appreciated widely during his schooling:

Professional Football Player John Elway was born on 28th June, 1960 in Port Angeles, Washington. He moved on to pursue his graduation from Stanford University after completed his schooling from Granada Hills High School. His father was the football coach at San Jose State University even though he joined this university. He achieved a success at school career with 49 passing touchdowns and 5,711 yards. He was appreciated for his running and passing capability in the game. He received about 60 scholarship letters. He was also good at playing baseball and was selected to be the part of the Kansas City Royals in 1979. He was entitled with number one high school football player in the country.

Got into a dilemma:

After enrolling himself in Stanford University, he kept on increasing his success graph. This journey began in 1982 with The Big Game played against California. The Stanford Team won this game because of the last minute game that Elway and Mark Harmon played. In just four seasons, he made 774 passes for 9,349 yards along with 77 touchdowns. He also received an award of Pac-10 Player of the Year Honors in 1980. He enshrined his name in the College Football Hall of Fame in 2000. The tricks and shot that he played in the game were applauded by the Thomas David, an assistant coach in Football.

His career as a baseball player did not remain ahead. He was picked by the New York Yankees for 1981 MLB Draft and earned $150,000 for playing in their short season. George Steinbrenner, Yankees owner decided him to make him the right fielder of the Yankees in 1985.

1983 NFL Draft:

Baltimore Colts was quietly impressed with his shots and picked him up for 1983 NFL Draft. He was very cautious about playing for the Colts as it was the worst team of that time in the league. He got slightly confused of pursuing his career as a footballer after the advice of Marvin Demoff who suggested him to pursue his career in baseball. He was also afraid of joining the Yankees if Colt did not trade him. He was about to trade for San Francisco 49ers’ Joe Montana which was followed by the San Diego Chargers and then also with New England Patriots. But later on Ernie Accorsi, Colt’s General Manager announced him as the part of their team. Elway felt insulted and refused to play with them and after that he was exchanged with Chris Hinton of Denver Broncos committee.

Journey with Denver Broncos:

Elway after joining the Denver Broncos became the most substantial part of this association and a highly anticipated player in the NFL History. He started as an opener in 1983 for Denver Broncos against the Pittsburgh Steelers. For the first time in his career, he was dismissed by a linebacker. He has to go through several pains for NFL quarterback even though the popularity of Denver’s was undoubtedly high. In 1986, he led broncos to the Super Bowl XXI after attaining victory over the Cleveland Browns. They faced New York giants very well, but again due to safety possession, he was dismissed in the end zone. In 1987, he was chosen to play for the American Football Conference’s Pro Bowl Team. He was responsible for the win that the Broncos attained against Browns for the AFC title Game. Now they had to face Washington Redskins and this game gave them a lead start of 10-0 which became a record in the Super Bowl history. But unfortunately second quarter did not prove to be fruitful and they lost this series. His 57 yard pass touchdown to Ricky Nattiel became a record in this history as the fastest touchdown ever. But later his performance degraded and he disappointed his fans throughout that season. In 1989, no doubt he was the reason for their first victory in Super Bowl against Browns, but they got defeated by the San Francisco 49ers in upper Bowl XXIV. His performance throughout the game was appalling and awful. It was 10 out of 26 completions for 108 yards and not a single touchdown pass. But finally they again tried their hands in 1998 in the Super Bowl XXXII. This time Broncos made their victory after defeating the champions Green Bay Packers with 31-24. They won the consecutive title in 1999 and he was entitled with the MVP of Super Bowl XXXIII after making 336 yards and no touchdowns along with one interception.

Retirement with executive titles:

In 1999, Elway decided to take a retirement from pro football. He has gained the best winning percentages in the history of the football league. He was entitled as the greatest athlete at number 7th by the Sports Illustrated. He was the only player who had spent the majority of his career in serving Denver Broncos.

Awards and Achievements:

Property and assets:

John Elway invested his money in various schemes such as Ponzi scheme where he after collaborating with his business partner invested $15 million in this. He established a restaurant with a signature of Denver Broncos that offers a very delicious meal with an attractive menu ahead. It include 165 dining seats, 70 bar seats and also private dining with a capacity of about 50 guests.
