Net Worth: $16 million

Career/Profession: Retired Basketball Player

Julius Erving name itself creates an image of basketball in the mind of the thinker. He is being acknowledged as the most famous retired American Basketball player. He emphasized mostly on the play, which was played above the rim. He was the one who helped in authentication of the American Basketball Association. His talent was undoubtedly beaten the talents of various talented and identified players.

His Early life:

Erving was born in Roosevelt, New York on February 22nd, 1950. He was usually recognized as Dr. J in Roosevelt High School. In 1968, he joined the University of Massachusetts, where he played two seasons as a freshman and then left. Here he scored an average of 32.5 points in NCAA Men’s Basketball. In 1971, as a free agent, he joined ABA with the Squires. His interest was although in basketball only, but to fulfil his promise made to his mother, he completed his graduation in Administration in 1986.

Shifted from Virginia Squires to Atlanta Hawks:

Erving initially took a start with Virginia Squires and made a position in the team as a hard dunker. He earned an average of 27.3 per game and led the formation of ABA All- Rookie Team. His game took the team to the Eastern Division Finals, but unfortunately they were defeated by Rick Barry belonging to New York Nets. After getting the green flag for NBA Draft in 1972, he was selected by the Milwaukee Bucks. But because of his dissatisfaction with the team he decided to be with Maravich and joined the training camp of Hawk’s. He enjoyed working with Atlanta during his practice season. But as Milwaukee took him so Atlanta was charged with the fine of $25,000 for each game. In 1972-1973 his contract with Squires got completed and he was moved to New York Nets.

Traded off to The Nets:

The Squires went into debt with each game and due to this in 1973 they had to shift Erving to the Nets. This was the biggest mistake that Squires had done. Erving’s entry into the Nets proved to be the success stone in their career. They won the title for ABA in 1973-1974 after defeating Utah Stars. His position in the team made Nets among one of the best teams in the ABA and increased the fan following for the team. During his reign in the Nets he also defeated the Denver Nuggets in the finale of Swanson of ABA. He was entitled as the Most Valuable Player for the season. In that season he marked his name in the top 10 players of ABA. In his course of time with ABA he won two titles’, three MVP awards and three titles.

Philadelphia 76rs Star:

Some controversy held between Nets and New York Knicks. After this the Nets were asked to pay $ 4.8 million for NBA territory. Roy Boe promised Erving to raise his salary, but to maintain his principles, he refused to play and left them. After this he got offers from the Philadelphia 76ers for $ 3 million. This totals the amount to about $6 million. After leaving Nets the reputation of the team also went down and they were amongst the worst team in the league. Him with full dedication joined Philadelphia 76ers and this time his focus was more on scoring more and more. The Sixers won the title of the Eastern Conference after defeating Boston Celtics. He also took the team to the NBA Finals where they had to face the Portland Trail Blazers.

Stumbled down instead won many titles:

Erving considered to be the league’s best player for the season 1980-1981 and 1981-1982 even though the team Philadelphia was turned out of the playoffs twice during the time. In the Eastern Finals they were about to win the title, but unfortunately lost the game. Second time they were beaten by Los Angeles. Instead of these defeats he was awarded with NBA MVP in 1981 and got selected for All-NBA First Team in 1982. Erving maintained his dignity and reputation by scoring well in each of the games for the season. His average for each game being 22.4, 20.0, 16.8 and 18.1. In 1986, he made an announcement of his retirement after completion of its current season. In the final game that Erving played it was seen that the opposing teams such as the Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Lakers also came forward to pay their tribute to him.

Personal Life:

Erving belongs to Christian Community. He got married to Turquoise in 1972. But the couple got separated in 2003. In 1979, it was found that he was having an external affair with Samantha Stevenson and the couple together had a daughter named Alexandra Stevenson. In 2003, after getting divorced with Turquoise he gets into a relationship with Dorys Madden. And finally in 2008 they both got married.

Assets:

Julius Erving had a mansion in Utah, which he used to call St. George Utah Home. It covered an area of about 6572 square feet, which had five bedrooms and six bathrooms with a scenic view outside. It had NBA logo chairs in it. The house cost $2.2 million, but he tried to sell this at $2.5 million. It was also found that he was failing to pay the fines of $2, 100. The house featured home theatre which involved 150 inch screen. It also had five fireplaces in it with a basketball court marked with a Philadelphia 76ers logo.

SOURCES OF WEALTH:

Rick has earned all his wealth being an actor, athlete and a basketball player.

BIRTH, CHILDHOOD AND EARLY LIFE:

Rick Fox was born on July 24, 1969 as Ulrich Alexander Rick Fox in Toronto. He was born to Dianne Gerace, an Italian Canadian who was an Olympic high jumper and women’s pentathlete, and Ulrich Fox, a Bahamian. Rick along with his parents moved to Bahamas which was his father’s native. He there attended Kingsway Academy in Nassau, where he was a member of the high school’s basketball team, the “Saints.” Rick also played high school basketball in Warsaw, Indiana and after his two seasons there, the Indian High School Athletic Association declared that he had no more high school eligibility left and thus he was not allowed to participate in any of the games organized by the Indian High School Athletic Association. He was later voted on to the Indiana All-Star team in 1987. He then went on to star at the University of North Carolina where his highlights included leading the Tar Heels to the 1991 NCAA Final Four. He graduated in 1991 with a B.A in Radio Television and Motion Pictures.

CAREER IN BASKETBALL:

Rick started playing basketball during his high school and never left it. He entered the NBA with modest beginnings. He averaged eight points and 2.7 rebounds in his first season with the Celtics, and was named to the 1991-1992 NBA All-Rookie Second Team. With Larry Bird injured for 45 games of his final NBA year, he had the opportunity to fill in for the veteran player. He played in 81 games, and ironically became the first Celtics rookie to start on opening night since Bird in 1979. By the 1993-94 season, Rick doubled his playing minutes and scored a career-high 33 points against the Milwaukee Bucks.

Rick’s increasing numbers indicated that he was settling in with his new team, but by the 1994-95 season, he watched pieces of the house he’d begun to build crumble. He was put on reserve after Dominique Wilkins joined the Celtics and was further handicapped by injuries that significantly cut his playing time. Toward the end of the season, he underwent surgery to repair bone spurs in his ankles. Another factor contributed to his troubled season–in 1994 Fox was identified as having Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD). He played for Bolton Celtics and from 1997 until his retirement in 2004, Rick Fox played for the Los Angeles Lakers of the NBA.

Net Worth: $30 Million

Career/Profession: Basketball player

Derrick Rose is one of the richest players of the National Basketball Association. He is an American Basketball player and the eminent NBA Star. Currently, he is the most substantial part of the Chicago Bulls.

Fully supported by his family:

Derrick Martell Rose was born on October 4th, 1988 in Chicago. He was raised by his mother in the Englewood area of Chicago along with his three elder brothers. He inherited this talent from his brothers who taught him how to play basketball. As he grew the fame he attained forced his mother to restrict his contacts as she was afraid that his way to the NBA would be blocked by the outside parties. His talent was always boosted by his brothers and they played an amazing role just like a father does. They seemed to be there for him always and stand by his side. Their full support made him enrolled in Chicago’s Simeon Academy and swiftly became one of the best school players. He usually had an average of 25.2 points per game and also facilitated the Academy with a state title.

Derrick was in a relationship with a girl named Mieka Reese. In 2012, Mieka gave a birth to a son named Derrick Rose Jr. He is a Christian and a God-loving man who has a full faith in God.

Reason behind his success:

John Calipari watched Rose while playing in AAU Game, and he was very fascinated with his play. So he hired him for University of Memphis Tigers. Various other teams of Indiana University and University of Illinois tried to get him into their team. But Rose continued his decision as he knew about the school’s history of setting players in the NBA. Rose’s play on the court made Tigers to achieve first rank in the history of 25 years. They captured the title of Conference USA Tournament with 33-1 record where an average of Rose was unbeatable i.e. 14.9 points. They also won the NCAA game tournament against the Kansas Jayhawks with Rose’s average of 25 points per game. In 2008, he proclaimed himself as NBA Draft, and after that Chicago Bulls picked him up. Under his tenure Memphis won a total of 38 games which was unbeatable record.

NBA Career:

Chicago Bulls selected Rose in their first pick and it was a matter of great honor for him. Initially, he was selected for the preparation of the Olympics in Beijing and played his first game in Pro Summer League. He became the second man to score 10 points after Michael Jordan and earned the title of Rookie of the Month. He also took part in All-Star weekend and defeated other NBA stars and claimed the trophy. His average was 16.8 points, 6.3 assists and 3.9 rebounds per game. He also defeated Boston Celtics and turn out to be the second player after Chris Paul in NBA history to earn 35 points and 10 assists.

2009-2010: First All-Star Season

This season of Rose started with an ankle injury, but he prolonged to play as an opener for Bull’s against San Antonio Spurs. He was also elected for All Star Season for the first time and Bull’s hit the target with 41-41 record. His average was 26.8 points and 7.2 assists.

2010-2011: MVP Season

During this NBA season Bulls scored about 62 wins, which was the largest in their overall history. First victory was against the Los Angeles Lakers with an average of 29 points. Then this journey continued to follow with the defeat of the Memphis Grizzlies, Milwaukee Bucks, Indiana Pacers and Atlanta Hawks. He was entitled as the NBA most valuable player.

2011-2012: Injury –Plagued Season

In 2011, Rose extended his contract for five more years for $94.8 million. He again voted for All-Star Game for the consecutive year. He was very unfortunate while playing against the Philadelphia 76ers as he got severely injured. He immediately moved out of the court and consulted doctor. So he had to get this surgery done in 2012.

2013-2014: Return Out Again

After so much pain he returned in 2013v against Indiana Pacers. It was a slow start with only 13 points in 20 minutes of play. He defeated the New York Knicks where he hit the court with 82-81 win. He again got severely injured while playing against the Portland Trail Blazers, but after the successful operation he again out for the season.

Other Endorsements:

The net worth of Derrick Rose is $ 30 million. Being one of the finest members of the Chicago Bulls has increased his net worth to a huge amount, but there are various other sources of his endorsement. After signing contract with Bulls he signed a shoe deal contract with Adidas for $1 million per year. He also merged himself with various other brands such as Skullcandy, Wilson Sporting Goods, Powerade, Force Factor etc. He was also proclaimed as the cover athlete for 2K Sports which was launched on Xbox 360. In 2011, Crain’s Chicago Business declared Rose amongst the top 10 NBA players to earn $1.5-$2.5 million. His contract with Adidas was worth $250 million over the period of 10 years.

Net Worth: $180 Million

PROFESSION : Basketball Player

Kevin Maurice Garnett nicknamed “K.G” is an American professional basketball player of the NBA with a net worth of around $180 million. In his career spanning 18 years, he has played for the Minnesota Timberwolves, Bolton Celtics, and Brooklyn Nets. In the NBA, where match-ups are everything, Kevin has been a one-man nightmare for most of his career.

Early years

Kevin, the middle child in his family, was born in South Carolina, to O’Lewis McCullough and Shirley Garnett. After the separation of his parents, he moved to Mauldin, South Carolina, where his mother married his stepfather. He fell in love with the sport of basketball when he was in middle school, although he did not play organized basketball until high school. Due to a racially charged incident and fearful of being a target, He transferred to Farragut Career Academy in Chicago in his senior year of high school and it was here that he was named National High school player of the year by USA Today.

NBA

In 1995, He became the first NBA player to be directly drafted out of high school in 20 years when he was picked by the Minnesota Timberwolves. From that point onwards, Garnett has never looked back. He made an instant impact, leading the Timberwolves to eight consecutive playoff appearances. In the 1997-98 season, Garnett signed a 6-year contract extension with the Timberwolves for an unparalleled $126 million. It was also the season when Kevin made it to the NBA All-star team for the first time. He won a gold medal with the USA men’s National Basketball team at the Summer Olympics held in Australia in 2000. He was voted the MVP of the year, after leading the Timberwolves to The Western Conference Finals of the 2003-04 season

Things started going downhill in the 2004-2005 season, with the Minnesota Timberwolves not making the playoffs for the first time. In 2007, when the decision came to trade Kevin Garnett, there were several teams making offers. The Golden State Warriors, Indiana Pacers, Phoenix Suns, Los Angeles Lakers, Boston Celtics, and the Dallas Mavericks, all were plying for his signature. Finally, The Boston Celtics snapped him up in exchange for 7 players and cash considerations. Kevin Garnett signed a three year contract for $60 million with the Boston Celtics the very day the trade was made public. The 7-for-1 deal constitutes the largest number of players traded for a single player in league history.
The combination of Paul Pierce, Ray Allen, and Garnett were automatically nicknamed “The Big Three” by the media after the Larry Bird, Kevin McHale, and Robert Parish trio. He made his Boston debut with a strong performance against the Washington Wizards, with 22 points and 20 rebounds. With the Celtics, Kevin found perfect playing partners in Pierce—a slasher—and Allen, a smooth perimeter player known for stretching the defense. In 2008 Boston Celtics, with Garnett on their side, were victorious at the NBA championship. Garnett helped the Celtics to their 17th NBA Championship, with 26 points and 14 rebounds in the NBA Finals. Garnett was named the NBA Defensive Player of the Year for the 2007–08 season. He also led all players in voting for the 2008 NBA All-Star Game.
In the 2008–09 season, Garnett became the youngest player in NBA history to reach 1,000 career games, at 32 years and 165 days. Garnett earned his twelfth consecutive All-Star Game start on February 15, 2009.
In 2013, the day of the NBA Draft, the Boston Celtics and Brooklyn Nets reached a deal to trade Garnett.

Endorsements and Property

Over the course of his 18 year career, Garnett has endorsed some of the biggest brands in the business. Nike, Adidas, Gatorade, Beats by Dre and Zico are some of the brands that he has endorsed. He agreed terms for a multi-million dollar endorsement contract with Chinese sportswear brand Anta in 2010. In December 2011, Garnett agreed to become a limited shareholder of American-owned Italian Serie A soccer team A.S. Roma.

Garnett owns a sprawling estate in Long Lake, which he bought in 2007 for $6.45 million. Garnett also has majestic contemporary estate at Concord which he has put on the market for $4.85 million. With 5 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms, the place is a contemporary masterpiece, complete with floor-to-ceiling windows, a wine cellar, and gym and media room.

Personal Life

In July 2004, Garnett married his longtime girlfriend Brandi Padilla during a private ceremony in California. Due to the wedding, Garnett did not take part in the Athens 2004 Olympic Games. It’s been rumored that the happy couple have a beautiful baby girl, but no details. Kevin’s nicknames include “The Big Ticket”, “KG”, “Da Kid” and formerly “The Franchise” (after being known as the Minnesota Timberwolves’ franchise player).
