Net Worth: $60 million

Profession: Actress, Writer, Comedienne, Producer

Phoebe Buffay as she is popularly known for her role in the television series, Lisa Kudrow first started acting in one of NBC’s sitcom Cheers, where she was seen playing the girlfriend of Woody Harrelson’s character. Though she tried out her luck with other endeavors, it was Friends that her gave her the much needed acknowledgement. She received many awards for her role in Friends, including an Emmy Award and two Screen Actors Guild Awards.

I got the funny bone in me

Thanks to Jon Lovitz of the Saturday Night Live fame, who coaxed her into taking up a comedic career, she agreed to become a member of The Groundlings, an improvisational and sketch comedy troupe. Lisa Kudrow, who had a degree of Psychobiology from Vassar College, was working as a medical researcher. She quit the job to try out her luck in the world of showbiz and become an actress. And, yes she did. Soon after, she joined with Conan O-Brien and director Tim Hillman on their troupe Unexpected Company. Her portrayal of Ursula Buffay, an oddball waitress on the 1990s NBC sitcom Mad About You led to her eventual role as a massage therapist Phoebe Buffay. Although Ursula and Phoebe were cast in two different NBC shows, they were twins in both storylines. In 1998, Kudrow’s portrayal of this character helped her become the first Friends cast member to win an Emmy for a supporting role.

Her other comedic endeavors include roles in movies like Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion, Hanging Up, Marci X, Analyze This and the sequel to it Analyze That.

The money that I made

According to Guinness Book of World Records, Lisa Kudrow and her co-stars on Friends, Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox became the highest paid TV actresses of all time, earning $ 1 million per episode for the final 2 seasons of the television series. Reportedly, the remuneration for her role in the series was around $1,000,000 per episode. Now, that sure is whopping!

Her initial salary estimations are listed as below:

Friends (2002-2003) $24,000,000

Friends (2001) $1,000,000 per episode

Friends (1996) $75,000 per episode

Friends (1995) $22,500 per episode

That was all about the acting money that she made. She went on to produce the HBO series The Comeback, Who Do You Think You Are, and Web Therapy. Most of the shows have been touted make a comeback. Reportedly, her annual salary comes to around $36 million.

Besides portrayed Phoebe Buffay in Friends, Kudrow also appeared in several movies like The Opposite of Sex, Dr. Dolittle 2, Happy Endings, P.S. I Love You and Easy A. These movies gave her the much needed break into Hollywood and of course a worldwide recognition.

She was chosen as one of the 50 most beautiful people in the world, by People magazine. Rich and beautiful, she sure is.

Being the smart woman that she is, she has diversified her income by investing in stock investments, substantial property holding, real estate and some real promising endorsement deals. With deals like Cover Girl cosmetics, Kudrow’s earnings just seem to grow by the day. She also happens to own several restaurants that have huge turnovers. Her restaurants include The Fat Kudrow Burger Chains. Another cool thing about her? She owns a football team. She is one of the stakeholders for the team Los Angeles Angels. Recently, she launched her brand of vodka, known as the Pure Wonderkudrow. If all this is not enough to earn her those big bucks, she has also launched her own line of perfume called With Love from Lisa and a fashion line called Lisa Kudrow Seduction.

Happily married

In the year 1995, Lisa Kudrow got married to Michel Stern, a French advertising executive. The couple had son in 1998. Her pregnancy was also written into the script of season 4 of Friends, with her character Phoebe having triplets as a surrogate mother for her brother and his wife. Not just the perfect wife, but she seems to be the perfect mother as well. Even though her son was only six months old at the time, she chose to voice Aphrodite in Hercules in the year 1998, just so that her son would find her work more interesting. And in the year 2009, as a favor for her son, who at the time was too young to see any of the films or television shows she had starred in, she accepted to do the role in Hotel for Dogs.

A smart mouth

Being the witty person that she is, she has never failed to pass snarky or insightful comments on everything around her. Here are a few quotes that give us insight into the person she is.

On being famous:

“Before you are famous you think, Oh, if you’re famous you’re loved an adored. Then when you really experience that attention and everyone cares what you’re doing and wants pictures of you, it doesn’t feel like a warm hug. It really feels like an assault.”

On sex:

“We treat sex so casually and use it for everything but what it is- which is ultimately making another human being with thoughts and feelings and rights who will grow up to be an adult.”

Net Worth: $96 million

Profession: Stand-up comedian, actor, director, screenwriter, voice artist, comedian

Jonathan Kolia “Jon” Favreau is an American actor, director, screenwriter, voice artist and comedian. He is widely recognised for his directing work on films like ‘Iron Man’, ‘Iron Man 2’, ‘Elf’ and ‘Zathura’. He has also made appearances on several television serials like ‘Deep Impact’, ‘Swingers’, ‘Friends’ and ‘The King of Queens’. He is an exceptional performer which has helped him to gain appreciation from audiences and critics alike.

Early Life and Background:

John Favreau was born on October 19, 1966 in Queens, New York. He is the only child of school teachers Madeleine and Charles Favreau. He did his schooling from the Bronx High School of Science and then attended the Queen College. He also worked on Wall Street. By the mid 1980s he had located himself in choicago to take part on comedy and improve scene there. He performed at several Chicago improvisational theatres, including the ImprovOlympic and the Improv Institute.

However, his hopes of becoming the next fat funny guy were not fulfilled and he ended up washing dishes in Chicago’s restaurants. Eventually, he made his way into Hollywood by getting a minor role in the football comedy ‘Rudy’as Sean Astin’s chubby friend. He used the money earned from this part in relocating to Los Angeles and did small parts in ‘Batman Forever’ and ‘Mrs. Parker and the Vicious Circle’. Unfortunately both parts were left on the cutting room floor. The real glory came at Favreau’s doorsteps with the 1996’s film Swingers and John has never looked back ever since.

He is married to Joya Tillem, a physician, and they have three children, a son, Max and two daughters, Madeleine and Brighton Rose.

The Acting Career:

‘Swingers’ released in 1996, was the story of a group of rat pack-obsessed, out-of-work actors slumming amiably through life in Los Angeles. It was scripted by John himself, after his father gifted him screenwriting software. This comedy movie was one of the year’s biggest sleeper hits and made both Favreau and his real life close friend, Vince Vaughn, big stars. This changed the course of Favreau’s career completely.

He then got offers to work on various films and television series thereafter. He appeared in several films throughout the 1990s and early 2000s including Deep Impact (1998), Love & Sex (2000) and Something Gotta Give (2003). Also, he made appearances on movies like Very bad things (1998) and the much hyped hit romantic comedy,The Break Up (2006). He also appeared in the third season of the popular television sitcom ‘Friends’ where he played Pete, a computer mogul romantically linked to Monica (Courteney Cox). He then appeared in the 1990 ShowTime biopic ‘Rocky Marciano’. Favreau also made a guest appearance in Vaughn’s Wild West Comedy Show.

The Directorial Debut:

John began his directing career in the year 2001 with the movie ‘Made’, a Mafioso comedy in which he once again appeared with Vaughn. Then in November 2003, Favreau made the holiday hit comedy ‘Elf’ starring Will Ferrell and James Caan. Two years later, John came with another big screen movie, Zathura. It was a fantasy film which showcased a magical board game and its far-flinging effects. All this time, John continued his TV work as well as continued to be the producer as well as host of ‘Dinner for Five’, an IFC program which premiered in 2002. The show was nominated for a 2005 Emmy Award for outstanding nonfiction series. Also, in the same year he had a small part in ‘Something’s Gotta Give’.

The Major Breakthrough:

Favreau’s biggest career achievement so far has been the Marvel Comics adaptation ‘Iron Man’, the highly anticipated first film produced under a fresh deal between Paramount and Marvel. Iron Man was a major success among moviegoers and paved the way for the 2010 sequel Iron Man 2 that Favreau also helmed. The two films combined together earned more than $1 billion at the box office. Though Iron Man 2 was equally successful but it was not as well received as its previous part. He then directed the sci-fi based Cowboys & Aliens (2011), starring Daniel Craig and Harrison Ford.

He also served as an executive producer on the blockbusting flick The Avengers (2012) and more recently Iron Man 3 (2013). He was originally an indie film maker, but now has entered the mainstream visibility into the millennium. He is enjoying character stardom, besides earning notice as a writer/producer/director even after two decades in the show biz.

Quotes:

“I thought I would be working on Wall Street my whole life. It was the go-go ’80s; there were yellow ties. It was just an exciting moment. And although I wasn’t involved in the trading side of things, I was still around that culture, and I ultimately decided it just wasn’t for me.”

I’ve cut myself out… I’ve cut scenes out that I was in and that’s when you realize that you’ve got to make the best movie you can.

Some Big earnings:

$12 million: Iron Man 2 (back-end for directing and producing, based on worldwide gross of $627 million, and share of DVD and pay-TV revenue)
$10 million: Cowboys & Aliens (fee for directing and producing)
$2 million: Older film revenue

John has made a lot of money with his hits like the Iron Man series and Cowboys & Aliens. recently in 2014, he got the number one position on People with Money’s top 10 highest paid actors list in combined earnings. John is a car lover too and owns a Tesla model S in silver colour.

NET WORTH: $ 20 MILLION

SOURCE OF NET WORTH:

Leah has earned all her wealth in acting and specially the role of Carrie Heffernan on the sitcom The King of Queens brought her into stardom and thus helped her mint the money.

BIRTH AND CHILDHOOD:

Leah was born on 15th June, 1970 in Bensonhurst of Brooklyn, New York. Her parents were Vicki Marshall, a private school teacher and George Remini, who was the owner of an asbestos-removal company. Her parents had come from different backgrounds – her mother was an Austrian Jewish and her father was a Sicilian. Leah has an elder sister and four half-sisters. We have seen her elder sister in the role of her assistant on The King of Queens. Leah at the age of 13 moved to Los Angeles, California with her mother to pursue her career in acting.

CAREER:

Leah dropped out of School at an early age to pursue a career in acting. Soon then, she has made her debut through television in the “Head of the Class” in the year 1988. She slowly started getting offers one after the other and soon she had acted in two episodes of ‘Who’s the Boss?’ in 1989. And that’s it! Leah never turned back. The same year she had got her biggest break till then when she was landed her own show ABC’s Living Dolls. It also featured Halle Berry and was a spin-off of Who’s the Boss. However the show was not a success. But still, Leah continued to appear on television there after with small parts on shows like Normal Life, Valerie and Guns of Paradise. It was by then 1991 and Leah had received two recurring roles; one for ‘Man in the Family’ and the other for ‘Saved by the Bell’.

Sometimes, luck plays it’s part in one’s life and accordingly, Leah’s tryouts for the role of Monica on a popular show Friends broadcast in NBC never worked out. Instead, the role was offered to Courteney Cox. But later next year, she did appear in the same show in a guest role. But she was never without work. She immediately joined the cast of Phantom 2040 in 1995 and lent her voice to an animated character. She was provided with her own show once again during 1995 called ‘First Time Out’. But the show was again a disaster and met with a ‘The End’ after its 12th episode.

Later, she was offered with a lead role once again for a new sitcom ‘Fired Up’ in the year 1997. This time she co-starred with NYPD Blue’s Sharon Lawrence. This too was not a big hit for Leah. It lasted for just 28 episodes. But yes! It did bring fortune into her career life. She was landed with her biggest and most successful job in the show business. She starred opposite Kevin James on the hugely popular show ‘The King of Queens’. The show ran lasted for whopping 208 episodes, that is a non stop 9 big years from 1998 to 2007. This show built her career and made her climb the ladder of success! She had by now become a household name in America!

Meanwhile in 2003, she was cast for her first big film role ever opposite Vince Vaughn in Old School. Then, The King of Queens show came to an end in 2007.
