Tyrese Darnell Gibson also known as Tyrese, is an American actor, a song writer, author, R&B singer, TV producer, a fashion model and MTV VJ. Roman Pearce was one of his best known roles in, Fast and the Furious Series. After doing several albums, he changed his focus towards the films and got lead roles in several big Hollywood releases.

Gibson’s career began on a bus, he appeared in a Coca-Cola advertisement in the year 1994, which had a phrase “Always Coca-Cola”, this led Gibson towards his glorious fame. In 2002-03, after RCA Records was dissolved, Tyrese went on to sign to J Records and then he released his 3^rd studio album, “I Wanna Go There” in 2002. His first single from this album became his most successful single. Then “How You Gonna Act Like That” debuted on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart on the #7 position.

In 2006-07, Tyrese Gibson released his fourth studio album and named it, Alter Ego. Also this was his first double disc album. It was also his first album in which he debuts his rapping personality. The first single of the album “One” debuted on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart directly at the 26^th position. This album is considered as Tyrese’s lowest selling album till date. In 2007, Tyrese Gibosn, Ginuwine and Tank  formed a super group and named it TGT.

After his dedicated years in music, he turned his focus on his family and acting which got him a huge success, he decided that now it was time to return to this. In 2011, he signed a new album entitled “Open Invitation” with his newly founded label Voltron Recordz to EMI and declared that he was working on it. In August 2011, Tyrese released its lead single “Stay”. This song grabbed #11position on the US Hot R&B Hip/Hop songs chart. The second single of that album, “Too Easy” featured his fellow friend and actor Ludacris. It went on to be #38 of the US Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. The third single “Nothing On You” got #61on the US Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. Open Invitation was released in November, 2011 and it debuted on the US Billboard 200 albums chart on 9^th position and it sold 130k copies in its very first week and went on to sell over 400k copies. In 2013, the album got him his third Grammy nomination in the Grammy Awards ’13 for Best R&B Album.

In early 2013, it was decided, announced and then later confirmed after much speculation that Tyrese, Ginuwine, and Tank would be releasing their debut collaboration album and it will be distributed by Atlantic Records. In April 2013, Tyrese announced that he is working on his new album entitled Black Rose which is expected to be released later in 2014.

Acting Career

Tyrese rose to glory as an actor when he debuted in John Singleton’s movie Baby Boy in the year 2001.

Tyrese is best known for his role in 2 Fast 2 Furious, it’s sequel The Fast and The Furious, Fast Five and Fast and The Furious 6 for playing Roman Pearce alongside fellow actor and a very dear friend Paul Walker. In 2005, Singleton again collaborated for the third time with Gibson in an action-crime drama, Four Brothers.

In December 2013, Tyrese laid flowers at the crash site of his best friend, Paul Walker. In his tribute he released a song “My Best Friend”, featuring The Roots and Ludacris, shortly after the accident.
