NET WORTH- $35 million

Former American quarterback, who has registered dozens of National Football League records in his account regarding his quarterback position, Daniel Constantine ‘Dan’ Marino Jr. have also credited $35 million in his net worth. Played for Miami Dolphins of the National Football League, Dan Marino is the synonym for the greatest quarterbacks in the history of American football. 2005 saw his entry into the Hall of Fame.
From College Football to National Football
With his roots laid in Italian and Polish culture, Marino was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and brought up in South Oakland. Dan Marino is the eldest child of Daniel and Veronica Marino, and has two sisters, Cindi and Debbie.
He started his career in baseball when he was studying in Central Catholic High School in Pittsburgh, and eventually shifted his focus towards football when he won All American honor in football from American nationwide Sunday Newspaper ‘Parade’. 1979 paved way to his fortune by Kansas City Royals signing him as an amateur for their football team, but instead Marino selected to be with college team. Marino played football on behalf of his college, University of Pittsburgh’s, whose team was also known as ‘Pitt Panthers’. Starting as a freshman, Marino led his team to coup over West Virginia and Penn State in 1979 and last minute triumph over Georgia Bulldog in 1982. Consecutively during the three seasons that took place from 1979 to 1981, Marino made sure that he was in the top 5 rankings of media poll.
Marino’s senior year saw his tumbling football career as well as Pitt team’s bad fate. This even led to a halt in Marino’s selection in 1983 National Football League regarding his downgraded performance in the senior years as well as widespread rumours of his drug use. In Miami Dolphin’s list Marino was the 27th pick in the first round.
In the history of the United States Football League, Marino was the first draft pick selected by Los Angeles Express. Again, he decided to go with Dolphins instead of signing Los Angeles Express. He was given a start in 6th week against the Buffalo Bills. Both Miami and Marino lost the game, but this loss turned out to be victory for both Marino and his team because of the various records that Marino had afforded in the season. Second season saw Marino breaking many records and made him the ‘Most Valuable player’ in the National Football League. Marino’s only Super Bowl appearance was in Super Bowl XIX, where Miami Dolphin’s confronted San Francisco 49ers and Joe Montana in Palo Alto, California and lost the game by 38-16.
In 1993, Miami Dolphins tried for a comeback in American Football Conference Championship and thought of making it to Super Bowl series, but with Marino’s small vacation with the game, he fell down hurting his Achilles tendon during the play and was out for the season. Soon in 1994, Marino again showed up in the season as starting quarterback, with a special shoe on one foot and having an atrophied right calf.
Personal Life

In 1985, Marino wedded Claire D Veazey. He lives in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, with his wife and has six children – Daniel Charles, Michael Joseph, Joseph Donald, Alexandra Claire, Nia and Niki Lin.
Apart from the football life, Marino had also made small appearances in the small as well as big screen. Some of his notable performances are – Ace Ventura: Pet Detective (1994); Little Nicky (1994); Holy Man (1999); Bad Boys-2 (1999). He had also made his appearance in advertisement campaigns for Hooters, NutriSystem weight loss programs, Maroone, Papa John’s, Nutrasource.com and Empi Select (a TENS device).
Philanthropy

In 1992, Marino and his wife Claire, established a foundation for people with autism, called Dan Marino Foundation; after their own son Michael was diagnosed with autism. They have also opened a integrated neurodevelopment center, Dan Marino Center, alongside Miami Children’s Hospital, where children with developmental risk and psychological problems are diagnosed and treated. On March 23, 2010, The Dan Marino Foundation held its first “Walk about Autism”. Over 6000 walkers participated, as well as 420 volunteers provided by the Miami Dolphins Special Teams.
Net worth
Marino owns vacation homes in Kiawah Island, South Carolina. He also owns two restaurants in Miami and Las Vegas (Dan Marino’s Fine Food and Spirits). Marino is a partner/investor in a Florida-based restaurant group named Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza. Marino had investments in MMD Realty, a real estate company. Marino earned more than $1 million a year from endorsements for AutoNation (the car dealership chain) as well as Nabisco (a subsidiary of Kraft Foods). By the time he retired, he was earning a handsome amount of around $6 million a year.

Here are some of the words and the quotations by Jerry Rice:

“I think I just went into a system that was willing to utilize me and gave me opportunities and i felt fortunate to be able to go to Oakland and put the silver and black on. I wanted to prove to everybody that I could still play”.

“I went out there to play my game for the fun of it and never based my career around records”.

“If I should get selected into the Hall of Fame, I’d be able to say ‘thank you’ to all the legends that are in the Hall of Fame”. And also say thank you to my teammates, and also to all the fans. It’s going to be like a dream come true”.

“Today I will do what others won’t, so tomorrow I can accomplish what others can’t”.

NET WORTH- $200 MILLION

PROFESSION- FORMER AMERICAN FOOTBALL PLAYER, COLOR COMMENTATOR AND FORMER HEAD-COACH

INTRODUCTION

It was under his coaching the team won seven AFC Western Division titles and also victory over the massive Minnesota Vikings in Super Bowl XI. He retired in the year 1979.

FROM FOOTBALL TO TELEVISION

He entered into the world of television in the year 1980, where he worked for CBS. His abilities as an orator, describing even the finest points about football. To add more to the essence, he used his perfectly timed humor. All these qualities helped him become an icon in the television world. In the year 1994, he signed a deal with Fox, worth $32 million, for four years. This contract was one of the richest contract than any other NFL issues. In 2002, he joined Al Michaels for ABC’s Monday Night Football.

His show is so much liked that his show is even repeated throughout the day.

MADDEN AND ADVERTISEMENT

Much to everyone’s surprise the legendary sportscaster has a booming net worth of $200 million. Even though he has been a professional much in demand football coach for almost ten years and also a national television sportscaster for some two decades, still no one has an answer as to how he built such a huge empire. Madden earned an amount of $5 million a year during his broadcasting career. Some deduce that it has been made possible because of his video game series called as Madden NFL which he started in 1989. T has been estimated that Madden has sold over 43 million copies of the game. The EA sports signed a deal with Madden in 2005 declaring the exclusive game for the NFL through 2012.
