Paul Wesley( Pawl Tomasz Wasilewski in Polish) is a heart throbbing  Polish-American actor. He is best known for his role the CW series The Vampire Diaries as the hot Salvatore brother ‘Stefan Salvatore’. Paul recently bagged the No.1 spot on People With Money Magazine Top ten highest paid actors for 2014.

CHILDHOOD

Paul was born in July 23,1982 at New Brunswick,New Jersey in U.S. He grew up in Marlboro,New Jersey. He is English as well as a Polish as until 16 he has spent four months every year in Poland. Paul’s passion was playing hockey until he was about 14 years old and was pushed into performing.

Wesley attended Christian Brothers Academy in Lincroft, New Jersey and Marlboro High School.He graduated from Lakewood Prep School in 2000.

He enrolled in Rutgers University but left after one semester with his parents’ support when more roles were offered to him and he realized he could make a career out of acting.

EARLY DAWN OF ACTING CAREER

Paul became interested in acting when enrolled in a summer arts program in third grade .During Wesley’s junior year in High School he was cast as Max Nickerson in the soap opera Guiding Light. As he was having problem in his acting schedule he was transferred from Marlboro high School to Lakewood Prep School in Howell New Jersey.

ADVENT OF FAME

His debut on television was with the role of Sean McKinnon in Around World in 1999.In 2005, He changed his surname from Wasilewski to Wesley as he said it was hard to pronounce Wasilewski. He has done a number of shows namely Guiding Light(1999-2001),Law & Order(2000 and 2002),Shot in Heart(2001),Wolf Lake(2001),Smallville & The O.C. in 2003,Simple Rules(2003).

In 2005 and 2006 he did C.S.I:Miami and C.S.I:New York.In 2007,he  did Fallen.In 2008 and 2009 in The Russell Girl and Amy Wives.

He played the role of Aaron Corbett in the ABC family drama Fallen. He also worked in The Russell Girl.

In 2009, He landed in the role of Stefan Salvatore For the CW drama series The Vampire Diaries which is the onscreen depiction of the hit novel series of the same title.

He is mainly recognized by this role. He plays a younger brother of Damon Salvatore portrayed by  Ian Somhalder and the first love interest of Elena Gilbert played onscreen by Nina Dobrev. He played the role of Silas in Season 4 and 5 and also did the role of Stefan’s doppelganger Tom Avery.

He Did movies like The Last Run in 2004.In 2005, he worked in Roll Bounce and Cloud 9.In 2006 he worked in two movies Peaceful Warrior and Lenexa,1 Mile. In 2008, he did Killer Movie.In 2010, he worked in Beneath The Blue and in 2013 he did The Baytown Outlaws.

He directed an episode of The Vampire Diaries of season 5 named ‘ Resisent Evil’.

MARRIAGE AND DIVORCE

In 2007,Wesley met actress Torrey DeVitto in the sets of Killer Movie in which they acted together and then they started dating each other. She worked alongside him in The Vampire Diaries as Meredith Fell, a doctor in Mystic Fall in the third season of the series.

In April 2011, they secretly exchanged the vows in the private ceremony in New York,U.S. In July 2013, it was reported that they had filed for divorce after two years of marriage and they finally divorced each other.

Paul is currently dating Phoebe Tonkin. They started dating in early 2014.Phoebe plays the role of Hayley in The Originals.

PHILANTHROPY

Wesley supports two charities namely Elton John Aids Foundation and The Humane Society.

He supports three causes health,AIDS/HIV and heart.
