Drew Brees was born as Andrew Christopher Brees on 15th January 1979 in Dallas, Texas. He was born to Mina and Eugene Wilson Brees II. Mina was an attorney and Eugene was a renowned trial lawyer. His uncle and father, both being in sports influenced Drew a lot to enter into football. His uncle was a quarterback and played in the Texas Longhorns college football team. His father played in the Texas A&M Aggies men’s basketball team. He was a basketball player. His inspiration comes not just from his father and uncle, but also from his grandfather – Ray Akins, who was the coach of a Texas High School football team.

Drew then became the most precious offensive player of the Texas High School in 1996. He even started leading the football team of the Westlake High School to state championship. He slowly started developing himself as one of the finest football players in the United States of America.

Though Drew graduated in industrial management from Purdue University, he still chose to play with the Purdue Boilermakers football team. HIS PROFESSIONAL CAREER :

The success of Drew Brees in college football led him to the NFL Draft of 2001, but later he missed the opportunity as he was a little lacking in the pre-requisite statures for being a professional quarterback. He was taken in the NFL Draft of 2001 as the second quarterback for the San Diego Chargers.

Drew played his first ever professional football game in November 2001 against the Kansas City Chiefs. He later saw a downfall in 2003 season and thus was replaced by Flutie. His career at the Chargers was at loss and later it seemed that his career with them was almost over. Later, Drew made a comeback slowly in 2004 when the Chargers won the AFC West. The victory of the Chargers this time gave Drew the opportunity to play for the NFL Pro Bowl in 2004. He was awarded as the Comeback Player of the Year 2004 in NFL.

Drew later decided to join any other team when the Chargers didn’t allow the increase in their pay. The Dolphins too rejected taking him into their team due to his shoulder injury and that’s when the Saints welcome him to their team with a $ 60 million contract in March 2006. With the Saints, Drew had a successful time. He had come back to his original posture. He was declared as the starting quarterback in the NFC Pro Bowl 2007. He was later in 2007 awarded the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award. During the Pro Bowl of 2007, Drew also dislocated his left elbow. He started setting records out of which his record of 440 pass completions in a single season is always a talked about one. He was also given the title Offensive Player of the Year 2008.

Drew has so far won a number of awards for his talent in football. His awards list starts with the Alamo Bowl MVP award in 1998 followed by Outback Bowl MVP award in 1999. Then he was awarded with the prestigious Big Ten Footbool MVP Award in the year 2000 and a little later with the Maxwell Award in the same year. Later in 2004, he was awarded with the NFL Comeback Player of the Year and also with the NFL Offensive Player of the Year Award I 2008 and 2011. In February 2003, Drew got married to Brittany Dudchenko whom he dated from his college days in Purdue University. The couple have three children; first one being a son, Baylen Robert Brees born in January 2009, the other son, Bowen Christopher Brees born in October 2010 and the third one, Callen Christian Brees born in August 2012. Drew got converted to Christian when he was 17 years. He believes in Jesus Christ a lot. Drew’s mother passed away on August 7, 2009 when she was 59 years old.

In March 2010, Drew was hired for AdvoCare International as its national spokesperson. The company produces products for weight management and personal care. He then also appeared on EA Sports Madden NFL 11 video game as the cover athlete. Drew also has written a book titled “Coming Back Stronger: Unleashing the Hidden Power of Adversity” in 2010.
