Aliaune Damala Bounga Time Bongo Puru Nacka Lu Lu Lu Badara Akon Thiam, better known as Akon was born in St. Louis and spent most of his childhood in Senegal which the singer addresses as his hometown. Akon first came into limelight in the year 2004 after the release of his first single “Locked up”. Akon recognized his music abilities when he was serving three year jail sentence.
