Dan attended the Eastern Kenticky University on a basketball scholarship for two years and then transferred to University of Dayton.

Dan Patrick met his wife Susan while he was working at CNN. Actually Susan was a producer of CNN’s Inside Politics and they have now three daughter and one son. They are a happy married couple and love each other. Dan Patrick’s father worked in the computer science department at UD until he died. He died because of cancer in the year 1981. In the year 1997, Dan Patrick received the University of Dayton distinguished Alumni Award. Not only is this, in the year 2000, he was inducted into the Mason High School Athletic Hall of Fame.
