Dave Ramsey was born and brought up in Antioch, Tennessee; he graduated from college of Business Administration at university of Tennessee, Knoxville.

After The Lampo Group was formed in year 1992, Dave also wrote a book ‘financial peace’ during this period and also hosted a radio show called ‘The money Game’.
Ramsey began counselling couples at a local church after offering private counselling services Ramsey began attending workshop and seminars on consumer financial problems.
While giving counselling services Ramsey had developed his own way of solving financial problems using set of lessons and materials based on works and teachings by Larry Burkett, Ron Blue and Art Williams of A.L Williams Company now called Primerica and partial experience of his own.

He also created a university called ‘Financial Peace University’ it teaches adults as well as Teenagers in schools using video teaching, class discussions and small group activities across the nation. Topics covered in the lessons are cash flow planning, investing, saving, credit, and retirement.

He is also a founder of a foundation named “share it” co-created with Sharon Ramsey his beloved wife for the sole purpose of working with other non-profit organizations, such as housing initiatives, work to success projects domestic violence shelters, drug and alcohol recovery programs, crisis pregnancy centers, youth out reaches, and high schools to help people become aware of various financial situations. He also developed a small business conference called ‘EntreLeadership’ as a leader and he gives seminars on the core principal of how Ramsey grew his company debt free.
Ramsey has always been associated with Television industry, he has been a part of many shows including The Oprah Winfrey show, 60 Minutes and the early show on CBS.He made big time gains on Dr.Phil. He recorded a pilot and six unaired episodes of The Dave Ramsey project for CBS, and he was the host of The Dave Ramsey show, which aired at 8 pm, on ET and Fox business network until June 2010.
The Lampo group initially helped people one-on-one who were struggling with financial problems. There are completely over 350 team members.
