CHILDHOOD

Moore was born in New Mexico in the year 1962, to parents Charles Harmon, Sr. and Virginia. But, that marriage broke down even before Moore was born. Due to certain familial circumstances, Moore had to move around a lot. Her stepfather, who was , to her, more than her biological father, committed suicide in 1980, after his separation from Moore’s mother.

Moore had a few “dysfunctions” as a child. She was cross-eyed and also suffered from kidney dysfunction. She had to undergoes surgeries for various health reasons. Moore quit high school at the age of 16 and signed a contract with the Elite Modelling Agency, traveled to Europe and was a pin up girl. She even enrolled in drama classes. Moore wrote three songs with Freddy Moore, her musician husband. After that, she graced the cover of the magazine Oui, in which there was full frontal nudity.  Moore soon entered the film industry, which seems only natural when she started with modelling, took acting classes and ended up being in a movie- something which is almost like a trend now. The role was a small supporting role and the title of the movie was Choice, in the year 1981. This was a year after her step-father committed suicide. This movie was not critically acclaimed, but it surprising box office welcome! She, again, changed her genre to serious dramas with movies like About Last Night…, One Crazy Summer and Wisdom. Moore even entered the world of stage with the production of The Early Girl, in the year 1986. Many a times, there has been a gap of a few months or years of absence.

Moore founded a Planet Hollywood chain of International theme restaurants, with Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis as partners. As of now, Moore’s estimated net worth is $150 Million.

Moore has tied the knot with three different men in her life. Freddy Moore, Bruce Willis and Ashton Kutcher, who is her most recent ex-husband. There is a 15 year age gap between Kutcher and Moore. For a while, they seemed like the perfect couple but in 2011, they separated. Their divorce got finalized in 2013. Moore is a religious person. She is also an avid doll collector and owns around 2000 dolls. The Demi and Ashton Foundation was launched by the couple as in initiative against child sexual slavery, in 2009.
