Klum was born and raised in Bergisch Gladbach, a town located outside of Cologne. She was born in July 1973 to parents Erna and Gunther Klum. She was discovered when she participated in a national level modelling contest which was called “Model 92”. Klum won the contest in 1992 and was offered a modeling contract worth #300,000 by Thomas Zeumer, CEO of Metropolitan Models New York.

Klum has been featured in all the top notch magazines like Vogue, Elle, Marie Claire and so on. She is most famously known for her work as Victoria’s Secret Angel. In 1997, Klum married Ric Pipino, a stylist. However, the couple got a divorce in 2002.
Klum started dating Flavio Briatore in 2003 and the same year, she announced her pregnancy. She gave birth to their first child, Helene Boshoven “Leni” Klum in 2004.
While she was still pregnant with Leni, she began a relationship with Seal, an English singer, that ultimately was cultivated into a marriage. Seal became Leni’s de facto father. The couple got married in Mexico, in 2005. They have three biological children. However, the couple divorced after seven years of marriage, in 2012.
Klum was in a relationship with her bodyguard Martin Kristen from 2012 to 2014.
In 2011, Klum led Walk for Kids, a community 5k to raise funds as part of Children’s Hospital Los Angeles community awareness efforts.
