Introduction:
Kevin Jonas, popularly known as K2, was born on November 5, 1987 in Teaneck, New Jersey. He was born to parents Denise, a former sign-language teacher and Paul Kevin Sr., a former Christian minister and musician. His name at birth was Paul Kevin Jonas II. He is of Italian, German, English, Irish, Scottish, Cherokee and French-Canadian descent. He was brought up in New Jersey and is the oldest of four brothers.
He is the most ancient member of the pop rock band, The Jonas Brothers, made famous on the Disney Channel. He is the lead guitarist in the band and has an exquisite collection of guitars. He married his girlfriend, Danielle Deleasa, a 22-year old hair dresser at Oheka Castle on December 19, 2009. They met each other during a family vacation in Bahamas.
Early Life:
Kevin wanted to be a cowboy growing up but was inspired to enter the show business by a friend. Besides, music was an inherent interest in the Jonas family which helped him make the obvious career choice. He started playing guitar when he was sick at home one day. He then began self-learning guitar as early as 12 years of age and grew up singing in a church choir. He later signed a contract for recording with his brothers Joe and Nick with Columbia Records. Their band was called ‘The Jonas Brothers’ and found great success. Their father became the manager of their band later. He attributes his net worth of $18 million to both music and his acting career. Kevin plays guitar and sings backup. He is also the tallest of all brothers and is generally regarded as the grown-up in the band. In 2008, Kevin appeared on People magazine’s list of Sexiest Men Alive.
Road to Success:
Kevin Jonas’ singing career began when Daylight/Columbia Records signed the three Jonas’ brothers after listening to their track ‘Please Be Mine’. Their first rock album made it to the floor in August 2006, called ‘It’s about time’. But unfortunately the album sold only a little over 50,000 copies. Because Sony was not interested in promoting their band, so the brothers decided to switch labels. In February 2007, they entered into a contract with Hollywood Records after being dropped by Columbia Records. Jonas Brothers then came up with their self-titled album released on August 7, 2007 which made it to the 5th position on the Billboard Hot 200 chart in its first week itself and went double platinum. The band then climbed the ladder of success and delivered hits one after the other.
Their next album, ‘A Little Bit Longer’, was released on August 12, 2008. It peaked at number one on the Billboard 200 and sold more than 247,000 copies in the United States. The group produced their third album with Hollywood Records, ‘Lines, Vines and Trying Times’ in the year 2009 which was a huge hit too. The album surfaced at number one on Billboard 200 making the Jonas Brothers rise to the top once again.
The Television Time:
Kevin has a versatile personality and so has a keen interest in acting too. He made his debut as a guest-star in an episode of Hannah Montana with his brothers Joe and Nick on August 7, 2007. The episode witnessed a record breaking audience of 10.7 million. The Jonas brothers also made an appearance in the Disney Channel Original Movie Camp Rock and its sequel, Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam. He also featured in Entertainment Television’s docuseries ‘Married to Jonas’, centering on his life with his new wife, Danielle Deleasa.
The life of the brothers was also documented in a television series called ‘Jonas Brothers: Living the Dream’, which was premiered on Disney Channel on May 16, 2008. The show which ran until September 5, 2008 documented the brothers’ lives on the Look Me in the Eyes Tour. The series was then renewed and its second season premiered on March 21, 2010. The second season was based on the European leg of their world tour 2009. Jonas was also seen in MTV’s fourth episode of ‘When I Was 17’ (Season 1), talking about his memories from when he was seventeen. Kevin was also a co-host on ‘Live with Kelly’ on December 13, 2011 and then again on July 4, 2012.

The Tough Times:
The Jonas Brothers hit the headlines in October 2013, when they announced the cancellation of their fall tour. This created a buzz among the people.
