Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum is born rich. He was born in Dubai’s ruling Al Maktoum family to Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum. After being privately tutored, Sheikh Mohammad attended Bell School of Language. It is there where he developed his better understanding of literature, politics and sports. To further prepare himself to face the challenges of life, Sheikh Mohammad attended Mons Officer Cadet School which is located in England where he military training.
Sheikh Mohammed became the Crown prince of Dubai in 1995, and his first initiative after being crowned was the creation of the Dubai Shopping Festival. The festival was immediately followed by Dubai World Cup, which is now world’s richest horse race awarding the prize of whooping $4 million. During his tenure as crown prince, Sheikh Mohammed overlooked various development projects in Dubai. These projects include marvelous infrastructure luxury hotel Burj Al Arab. He also oversaw development of Palm Islands. He also initiated and promoted construction of world’s tallest and beautiful building Burj Khalifa. After his brother’s demises, Sheikh Mohammed revived the crown of being the Ruler of Dubai in 2006. Since then Sheikh Mohammed has transformed Dubai into world’s most sought after business destination.
Following the great career, Sheikh Mohammed’s life is full of controversies. Recently Sheikh Mohammed was making the headlines after he granted mercy and pardoned Marte Dalelv, who was convict of extramarital sex and alcohol consumption after she was reported being raped. Media time and again try to make news out off everything Sheikh Mohammed does, In early 2007, Metro Newspapers a London based publication published Sheikh’s picture attributing to terror suspect Khalid Sheikh. The publication later apologized for the mistake. Sheikh was also accused of promoting abduction and enslavement of boys for use as jockeys in camel racing. but in 2006 Sheikh’s lawyers raised a motion to dismiss the lawsuit, within a year in 2007 the lawsuit was dismissed.

Sheikh Mohammed’s first wife Shaikha Hind bint Maktoum bin juma Al Maktoum his is cousin. They got married in 1979 in a grand wedding. The couple together have 12 children including Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum the current Crown prince of Dubai. Sheikh’s Second wife is Princess of Jordan, Princes Haya Bint Al Hussein. The couple got married in 2004, the couple has a boy and a girl together. Biologically Sheikh Mohammed is father to 23 children, fourteen daughters and 9 sons. Sheikh announced birth of his 23rd child Zayed on social network.

The Sheikh Carries passion for Cars, Boats and big houses. Sheikh the Dubai Royal truly lives his life like a King. Sheikh has over 100 cars in the garage of his Dubai Palace.He also owns the world’s biggest yacht. Sheikh Mohammad purchased his long cross Estate around twenty years ago for $1.1 million. Very few information about the interiors of the estate is available to the public because of extremely tight security, but it is rumored that the estate has three hangers built within for his vast collection of limousines and other cars. Today the estate has an estimated value of over $30 million.
Sheikh Mohammed, one of the world’s richest man spent around $70 million to buy an estate located in Village of Dalham, England. The estate is spread in 3300 acres of land, yet again very little information is available about the interiors of the house.
In 2010, the Dubai Royal bough World’s most expensive penthouse for $308 million. The property is two story pent house located in Monaco. The house is designed by Candy and Candy the design firm who is very popular among the rich and famous. The exterior of the penthouse if built in Mediterranean style and the interior is built in contemporary style. The house has an infinity pool, a panic room with surveillance cameras, a full height library, and cinema rooms. The bedrooms are designed with contemporary manner wooden finish.
Sheikh Mohammed bought Inverinate Estate twenty five years ago for $3 million. the mansion has fourteen bedrooms and the home spread in the area of 63,000 acres, today the value of the property is over $50 million.
Sheikh Mohammed loves golf, and his love for gold makes him purchase many luxurious golf courses around the world. One such golf course is 800 acre Turn-berry gold course. He bought it for over $100 million but didn’t even play golf.
Golden Star and platinum yacht, the largest yacht in the world measures 531 feet. Originally Prince Jefri bought it in 1996 but because of lack of funds the project stopped. Sheikh then paid $300 million and got it carried out in 2001. The yacht has three elevators, hot tubs and, variety of pools. Currently the Yacht has an estimated vale of over $350 million.
The Sheikh became the first person on the planet to own Mercedes G63 AMG, the car is fully loaded with adaptive cruise control, automatic breaking system, navigation system, stereo and much more, the car is worth $100,000. Apart from this Sheikh’s mind boggling car collection has over 100 cars including some of the best like Maybach, Ferrari, Rolls Royce, Lamborghini s, and Mercedes with the combined value of over $100 million. Sheikh also spent a huge sum of $100 million in his first wedding.
Apart from spending his wealth in lavish lifestyle, Sheikh also established a Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation. The foundation aims to bridge gaps between the Arab and developed World.
