Nina Dobrev was born in Sofia, Bulgaria in the year 1989. She moved to Canada at the age of two. Dobrev is fluent in English and Bulgarian. Nina has strengthened her roots in the industry through television with roles in Degrassi: The Next Generation and The Vampire Diaries. However, she has appeared in a number of movies like Fugitive Pieces, Away from Her, and Never Cry Werewolf. Dobrev was also in an MTV movie called The American Mall. In The Vampire Diaries, she plays three roles, that of, Elena Gilbert, Katherine Pierce and Amara. The series revolves around two vampire brothers who fall in love with the same lady, who is also a vampire.
Nina also had a role in the erotic thriller Chloe, which was released by Sony Pictures Classics in 2010. The film was a commercial success.
In 2011, Dobrev was cast as Candace in the movie The Perks of Being a Wallflower. The film was released in 2012. It was a success and the film got a lot of critical acclaim.
