Richard Mark Hammond was born on 19 December 1969. He is an English presenter, writer and a journalist. Hammond is best known for his co-hosting job in the car program. He hosted the program along with Jeremy Clarkson and James May named Top Gear. The programme is a real hit and is famous worldwide. Not only is this, he also presented the 1-4 series of Brainiac: Science Abuse on Sky1. Not only is this, Richard Hammond also co-host Total Wipe out along with the host, Amanda Byram. Apart from these, Richard hosted Planet Earth Live along with Julia Bradbury. He married to Amanda Etheridge in the year 2002 and have two daughters now.

Richard Hammond was born in Solihull, Warwickshire and is the grandson of the worker in the Brimingham car industry, this is the reason why he owns so many cars as mentioned below. Tough he was born in Solihull but later he moved with his family to the North Yorkshire cathedral city of Ripon. Talking about his family, his father is Alan who ran a probate business in the market square, his mother is Eileen Hammond and has got a younger brother Andrew. He did his schooling form Ripon Grammar school and for the period 1987-1989 he attended Harrogate College of Art and technology. After completing his graduation, he worked for many radio stations which includes Radio Cleveland, radio York, Radio Cumbria , radio Leeds, Radio Newcastle and Radio Lancashire and after that he moved on to Top Gear.

Richard was married to Amanda Mindy Etheridge in the year 2002. The family along with two daughters live in Herefordshire Home which is a luxurious mansion. Not only is this, they also have an apartment in l=London. Richard is s very talented personality, he also plays a bass guitar and support other presenters on Top Gera of the Pops for Cosmic Relief in the year 2007. And also loves riding a bicycle in the city. Talking about his other interests, he is s fan of Porsche cars and has also interest in American muscle car. He is also a keen motorcyclist and spent $70,000 in rebuilding his defender 110 buster in the year 2008. Recently it is in the news that, he had spent $2 million buying Bollitree Castle situated near Weston under penyard, Ross-on-Wye and also having a large house in the small town of Wantage, Oxfordshire. Apart from these, Hammond gained a private pilot license in a Robinson R44 helicopter.
