Personal life
In his early days he love to play basketball but soon dropped it because of his mother because he forbade her from the game due to the searing outdoor heat of the basketball court. He started learning this badminton at the age of just 11. On November 3, 2006 he met with a car accident while he was on his way Bukit Jalil after dinner when his car hit by a vehicle. And the tire blow out. In the year 2008, he received RM300 as a reward for his silver medal effort in Olympic Games. He was in a relationship with a very beautiful woman, Wong Mew Choo who was her teammate. He announced his marriage on 9 November 2012 and had first child on April 2013.
Career
In the period 2002-2006 he reached the final defeating Chen Hong of China. He secured two titles the Malaysia Open and Chinese Taipei Open. In the year 2005 he got Malaysia Open title and Denmark Open. In the year 2006 he won three titles Swiss Open title, Asian Badminton Championships and again the Malaysia Open. In the year 2008 he received his fourth Malaysia Open title and also the Singapore Open title. On December 12, 2008 he grabbed his 7th National badminton Grand Prix Final in Kedah. In the year 2009, he won his fifth Malaysia Open title and secured Swiss Open second time. In the year 2010, he received super series title and gained Korea Open title first time and the Malaysia open title sixth time. He won gold medal at Commonwealth Olympic Games by defeating India after this he won Silver medal at the Asian games and begged the Hong Kong Open title. In the year 2011 he won 7th Malaysia Open title by defeating Taufik Hidayat in Indonesia. On the Labour day he won India Open first time in his life. Not only is this, in the same year he won Grand Prix Gold title for the third time and the French Open title. In the year 2012, he won the tile Japan Open and Denmark Open. This was the year when he got married to a beautiful woman as discussed above. In the year 2013, he won Korea Open for the third time and Malaysia Open for the ninth time, India Open for the second time. He won more matches than he lost. Not only is this he won Japan Open for the fourth time and masters Final for the fourth time. He has so many achievements that is not possible for everybody and is very lucky. He won the Darjah Bakti (DB) award from tuanku Mizan Zainal on June 6, 2009. He received Permodalan Nasional berhad shares worth MYR100,000 on 16 March 2011. He was appointed as the ambassador of KDU University College on 31 July 2011. He won silver medal in Asia Games in the year 2010.
