Title Change Controversy

title

During the production time of the movie it was named as Rapunzel which later changed to Tangled.  The story behind this controversy is that a previous movie in 2009 ‘The princess and the Frog’ had a budget of $270 million and is not much successful as expected. Disney had a belief that name of film on princesses discouraged young boys from seeing the film so to attract both the sexes, they changed the name to Tangled. This shows how desperately they wanted to attract the audience some call it a marketing strategy.

Animation

Computer-generated imagery (CGI) was used to make the film.  The Rococo paintings were used for the film-artistic style by a French artist Jean-Honore Fragonard. No-photo realistic rendering has been used to create the impression of the painting. Glen Keane held a seminar with 50 Disney CGI artists and discussed the pros and cons of the film. When Keane started the project the quality was not available at the Disney as he wanted and Walt Disney Animation Studios later had to create them on their own. Keane wanted to bring the hand-drawn art to CGI.  They used subsurface scattering and global illumination, they want the fluidity in the art and used latest technologies to show rich environment and realistic characters.
