Amitabh Bachchan was firstly name Inquilaab and was in Allahabad a place in Uttar Pradesh. His father’s name is Mr.Harivansh Rai Bachchan; he was a very famous poet. His mother’s name is Teji Bachchan; she was from a place in Pakistan called Faisalabad, she was very much interested in theatre arts.  His name Amitabh was suggested by his father’s friend and Sumitranandan Pant. He truly makes up to his name which means”the light that never die”. The name was supposed to be Amitabh Shrivastava but his father adopted the surname “Bachchan”. He has done more than 150 films.   • In the year 2006, he was nominated for the Filmfare Award as the Best Actor for his performance in “Sarkar” and as “The Best Supporting Actor” for “Bunty and Babli”. He got the IIFA Award, Zee Cine Award as the “Best Actor” for his hilarious performance in “Black”.
  • In the year 2007, he got the Screen Award for his performance in “Cheeni Kum” as the Best Actor. In the same year he was awarded by the government of France as the “Legion of Honour” for his contribution in Indian Cinema.
  • In the year 2009, he was awarded as by the “Life Time Achievement Award” at MAMI. He was awarded by the Stardust Awards as the Best Actor for his performance in “The Last Lear”.
