Archie Manning was born on 19 May 1949 in Drew, Mississippi. He is Millionaire of the era. His birth name is Elisha Archibald “Archie” Manning III. He is a professional football quaterback who played in the National Football League. He also played for the New Orleans during the period 1971 to 1982 and for the Houston Oilers and Minnesota Vikings. Archie grew up in the environment of basketball, football, tack and baseball. When he entered the University of Mississippi he played quarterback for three years and receive the Mississippi sportsman of the year in the year 1969. Not only is this, he received the Nashville Banner Trophy for being the most valuable player during the Southeastern conference. In the year 1971, he was picked by the New Orleans Saints and in the year 1971NFL Draft where he played 10 seasons. Archie Manning was the son of Jane Elizabeth and father, Elisha Archibald Manning Jr. his father was famous for “Buddy” and is interested in Archie sports activities. His mother was “a ubiquitous presence at all of his games, no matter what the sport or level”. While he was in Drew High School he was selected in the Major League Baseball draft and four times by the Braves in the year 1967. Not only is this he was selected twice by the White Sox and in the year 1971 by the Royals. In the year 1969, unfortunately his father Buddy Manning committed suicide.

In the year 2012, Eli and the Giants won 2nd Lombardi Trophy and his second Super Bowl MVP award. Not only is this, Eli is a three-time Pro Bowl selection.



Manning started his career at a very early age when he was in the college. He attended the University of Mississippi where he started his career and of quarterback at Ole Miss for three years. In the year 1969 his first prime time broadcast of college football game. In the year 1969, he received Mississippi sportsman of the year of the Nashville Banner Trophy for the category of Most Valuable Player in the Southeastern Conference and won The Walter Camp Memorial Trophy. He was the fourth one to receive Heisman Trophy and third one in the year 1970. In the year 1989 he inducted the College Football Hall of Frame.

Apart from the NFL Career, he was seen as the commentator for CBS Sports college football broadcasts and appeared as the commercial spokesman for products in Southeast Louisiana. In the year 2007, he was awarded the Silver Buffalo Award by the Boy Scouts of America which was the highest award given for service to Youth on a national the year 2007, he was hired as the spokesman for a United parcel Service. In the year 2013, he was selected as one of the 13 inaugral members of the College Football playoff by the selection Committee.
