Avril Lavigne was born in Belleville, Ontario, Canada to parents, Judy Lavigne and John Lavigne. She has got one elder brother Mathew and a younger sister Michelle. At the age of 19, Avril began dating singer and guitarist, Deryck Whibley and in 2006 got married to him in California. In 2009, the couple got separated and an year later they were officially divorced. Later in year 2012, Avril started dating the frontman of band Nickelback, Chad Kroegner and got married to him in 2013.

Ever since she started her music career Avril Lavigne has always been in a very non girly image. She prefers wearing neck tie and tank tops teamed up with baggy pants and skater shoes or converse instead of glittery dresses or skanky outfits. Let Go was #2 on the Billboard 200 and #1 on Canadian, Australian and UK charts. The lead single and the debut single Complicated topped the Australian charts and was #2 in US. On 25th May 2004, was released Avril’s second studio album Under My Skin. This album also peaked #1 in many countries including Australia, Canada, Mexico, Japan, UK and US. Lavigne’s third studio album was The Best Damn Thing which was released in 2007. The lead single Girlfriend picked up very fast with the fans and became #1 on Billboard Hot 100 while The Best Damn Thing was #1 on Billboard Hot 200. For 2006 fantasy-Adventure film Eragon, Avril wrote a couple of songs which were soft and ballad type. Out of these, Keep Holding On featured in the film.
