Born on 24 April, 1964 in the Jefferson City in Missouri, he was the son of Rosetta and Kittrell Kyles. Rositta (née Boyce) was a school teacher while Kittrell Kyles was employed by a railroad company. He has younger sister with the name of Sharita Kyles Wilson who works at the University of Memphis in Memphis, Tennessee and is a communication instructor. Cedric was raised in the city of Caruthersville in Missouri. But when he went to study for his high school, he shifted to Berkeley, Missouri. He graduated from Berkeley High School which is located in the northern suburbs of St. Louis. He was a very bright child since childhood. He was awarded many scholarships throughout his years in high school. To continue this tradition, he now gives scholarship to the student of Berkeley High School through his organization, Cedric the Entertainer Charitable Foundation Inc. The motto of the organization is “Reaching Out…Giving Back”. He did his majors from Southeast Missouri State University in the field of in Mass Communication. He then worked as a farm insurance adjuster, then a high school teacher before finally adapting a full time job of comedian. He is also associated with Kappa Alpha Psi.
