David Geffen was born in Brooklyn to Abraham Geffen and Batya Volovskaya, who owned a clothing store in Borough Park called Chic Corsets by Geffen. Moving over to his education, he graduated from New Utrecht High School in Brooklyn and later attended Santa Monica College, California. He is a college drop out.
