INTRODUCTION:
Evan Thomas Spiegel is a 24-year-old CEO and is the youngest billionaire in the world, according to Forbes. He was born in Los Angeles, California. His parents are both lawyers, Melissa Thomas and John Spiegel. Snapchat was his school project he proposed in school which he further developed after he left Stanford. And just afew years later, he is now the CEO of this $10 billion app.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND:
Spiegel went to Crossroads School for Arts and Sciences in Santa Monica, and then attended Stanford University for his college education. He has taken several classes on art and design while still in high school so he clearly has a good background in designing and art in general. His internship at Intuit on the TxtWeb project might have also given him valuable experience that helped him in developing his business.
BUSINESS CAREER:
Evan founded the mobile application Snapchat with his co-founders, Reggie Brown and Robert Murphy. Facebook offered $3 billion to buy Snapchat from them, but they rejected the said offer. Evan said that they have been called arrogant, and crazy, but mostly crazy, for declining the offer. Interestingly though, the app that was priced for $3 billion before, is now worth a whopping $16 billion!

$3.3 MILLION HOUSE
Snapchat CEO bought his first house last year despite all the bucks he’s making form his business. He lived in his father’s house and joked that he’ll moved out once he kicks him out. Guess Mr. Spiegel kicked him out last year because Evan purchased a $3.3 million modest house in sunny LA that year. Oh, did I mention that it’s only four miles away from his dad’s house?
He purchased a Spanish-style house with three bedrooms and a 2,800 square feet of living space.
Compared to other billionaires, Evan chose a modest house rather than a mansion. Well if the house is that warm and relaxing in the eyes, I’d take it over high ceilings and elegance anyday.
