Gucci Mane was born on February 12, 1980 in Birmingham, Alabama, US. He is basically famous as an American rapper. His real name is Rabric Davis. His first debut was with ‘Trap House’ in the year 2005. Following this, he came out in 2006 again with ‘Hard to Kill’ and also ‘Back to the Trap House’. His most famous album was ‘The Appeal: Georgia’s Most Wanted’ which was released in the year 2010. He has also starred in many independent albums and studio albums as well. Like in the year 2009, ‘The State vs. Radric Davis’ was released which was his second studio album. Next in the year 2013, his album ‘Trap House III’ was released and it gained appreciation too. He is also associated with 1017 Brick Squad Records.

 

Early Life

Mane was born in the city of Birmingham, US. At the young age only, when he was in the elementary school, the thing he enjoyed the most was writing poems. But soon when he was only 14, he started rapping. His mother was a single parent and soon they moved together to Atlanta.

Many famous studio albums and collaboration albums are in the pocket of Gucci Mane. Starting with the year 2005, his first debut studio album ‘Trap House’ was released with Young Jeezy but there were many disputes regarding this single between the two artists. Following this was his next album in 2006,’Hard to Kill’. This album also included the famous single, ’Freaky Gurl’ and was soon ranked as #12 on Hit Rap Tracks. He gave two famous albums in the year 2007, ‘back to the Trap House’, which was the remix of his album, ‘Freaky Gurl’ and ‘Trap-A-Thon’. By 2009, success was in his pocket and was subsequently starred in many hit remixes including the one by Black Eyed Peas also. He also appeared in the remix song by Mariah Carey’s, ‘Obsessed’, and not only this he made around 17 guest appearances in Mario’s,’Break Up’. In the same year, ‘Murder was the Case’ and ‘The State vs. Radric Davis’ were released. Further in the same year, his studio album was released under Warner Bros and on MTV’s Hottest MC; he was ranked as number 6.  Following this, in the year 2013, his two famous studio albums were released, namely ‘Trap House III’ and ‘The State vs. Radric Davis : The Caged Bird Sings’.

Apart from his studio albums, his two collaboration albums also became quite famous. In 2011, ‘Ferrari Boyz’ was released with Waka Flocka Flame’ and ‘Baytl’ with V-Nasty.

Gucci is not only limited to rapping but also has some acting skills. In the year 2013, along with Selena Gomez, Rachel Korine and Vanessa Hudgens, he made his debut with the movie ‘Spring Breakers’.

 

Legal Issues

Though Mane is famous worldwide as a rapper but had been involved in many legal issues as well. He was sent to jail for about 90 days, as he was arrested on cocaine charges in the year 2001. Following this, he was also charged with murder in the year 2005, when he and his companions were attacked by a group of men. But soon he came out of the charge as there was no true evidence against him. He justified himself and his companions by claiming that that in self defence only, shots were fired by them. For probation violation also, he was arrested in the year 2008 and was send to jail but soon released after six months. Not only this, Mane was also arrested for violating the traffic rules, for driving on the wrong side, breaking the red light, and not having the license. He was arrested in the year 2011 as he was found with a deadly weapon in the jail of Atlanta.

Further, Mane’s image is also not that good in front of his fans as he once attacked his fan on March 22 in the year 2013 who wanted to take a snapshot with Gucci, and the rapper was issued a warrant for this. Further, a soldier was hit badly by Mane on his head with a bottle because of the same reason as before, as he wanted to take photograph with Gucci. Few days after this incidence, a fan of Mane was punched by him while trying to shake his hand.

 

Controversies

Not only legal issues, he had been involved actively in many controversies as well. It was reported that in the year 2012, Keyshia Cole, the famous R& B singer, came to Gucci for ‘Truth’. Gucci rapped the song in such a way that it became controversial. In the following year, Gucci announced that his friend, Waka Flocka Flame was severely dropped out from Brick Squad Records, it soon became so controversial that they both were seen throwing insults on Twitter. Also in the year, a beef began between Gucci Mane and Yo Gotti as they both were releasing their albums on the same day.

In the year 2010, he was listed as #20 by Forbes on the list of Top 20 Hip-Hop earners. Also his single, ‘Freaky Girl’ was ranked as #12 on Billboard Rap Tracks in the year 2006.
