Hillary Duff was born in Texas, USA to Susan Colleen Duff and Robert Duff. She has a sister Haylie Duff who is two years elder than Hillary. Hillary dated actor Aaron Carter for two years and then vocalist Joel Maddon for again two years. In year 2012, Hillary got married to retired Canadian Ice Hockey player Mike Comrie who proposed to her with a 14 carat Princess cut engagement ring that came with a hefty price of $1 million. With Mike, she had a baby boy Luca in March 2012. However Hilary and Mike got separated in 2014 but continue to co-parent Luca Comrie.
Breakthrough with Lizzie McGuire
Hillary Duff worked as a child artist in several local theater plays and also worked in Television commercials. She played minor roles in True Women, Playing by Heart, Casper meets Wendy, The Soul Collector and more, where The Soul Collector got her The Young Artist Award. Then in 2001 she was urged by her mother to audition for the newly created Disney Channel Series Lizzie McGuire in which she bagged the lead role and soon became a household name. When most of the teenagers are worrying about their grades in high school, Hillary Duff bought her first house at Toluca Lake for $3.5 million. The 9,277 square feet mansion has five bedrooms, six bathrooms, a swimming pool and a spa. The mansion was later sold for almost $5.5 million. After marriage with Mike Comrie, she bought another 5,260 square feet mansion in Beverly Hills which is in a very showbiz neighborhood. Charity and Philanthropy
Hillary has been very active in Philanthropic activities. She donated $250,000 along with 2.5 million meals to the victims of Hurricane Katrina in 2005. She is a member of Kids with a Cause and has served on the Advisory Board of the Audrey Hepburn Child Benefit Fund and the Celebrity Council of Kids with a Cause.
