Mandy Moore’s birth name is Amanda Leigh Moore. She was born in New Hampshire, in the year 1984. Her parents are Stacy and Donald Moore. Her mother is an ex-reporter and father is a pilot for American Airlines. She has two siblings: a younger and an older brother. Moore was brought up in Orlando, Florida due to the nature of her father’s job. Moore became interested in acting and singing at a very tender age. She says her grandmother is her major influence. She was only twelve when she attended this camp called Stagedoor Manor Theater Camp. It is the same camp where other brilliant actresses like Natalie Portman attended. She was a sweet and quiet girl. She also started composing songs at thirteen years of age. While she was singing in a studio, she was over heard by a delivery man. This delivery man sent her CD to his friend who worked in A&R at Epic Records and Moore signed her first deal with the same company.

After signing with Epic Records, Moore started her musical career. She has toured with N’sync and Backstreet Boys. Her debut single “Candy” was a hit. Moore was often compared with fellow pop sensations like Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears. She has released six albums and the seventh one is in the pipeline. Her album So Real wasn’t really that great and generally received mixed reviews. In 2001, she changed her music from “bubblegum pop” to different a little soothing. Moore’s songs and albums have not really done that great but in totality, she has managed to sell more than 12.5 million albums worldwide. The albums did good in one country but not so good in the other. All in all, she did manage to be a commercial success. Not a huge one, but yes, she is a commercial success. Latest news is that she is doing her seventh album in collaboration with her husband, Ryan Adams.
