Mandy Moore is an American Singer-songwriter, actress, model and fashion designer who rose to prominence with her catchy single “Candy”, which went up to 41 on the Billboard Hot 100. Her following songs, So Real and Walk Me Home could not be as successful as the debut song though. She has around seven albums in her bag. The albums have been titled So Real, I Wanna Be With You, Mandy Moore, Coverage, Wild Hope, Amanda Leigh and the seventh album will be released sometime in 2014. Keeping the musical career aside, Moore has been acting as well. She can be seen in movies like A Walk To Remember, Because I Said So, The Princess Diaries, Dr. Dolittle 2, Chasing Liberty, Saved!, How To Deal and American Dreamz. She became a voice actress after lending her voice to Rapunzel in the animated movie Tangled. In the very movie, she sang a song called I See The Light and the song won a Grammy for the Best Song written for Visual Media.

Mandy Moore’s birth name is Amanda Leigh Moore. She was born in New Hampshire, in the year 1984. Her parents are Stacy and Donald Moore. Her mother is an ex-reporter and father is a pilot for American Airlines. She has two siblings: a younger and an older brother. Moore was brought up in Orlando, Florida due to the nature of her father’s job. Moore became interested in acting and singing at a very tender age. She says her grandmother is her major influence. She was only twelve when she attended this camp called Stagedoor Manor Theater Camp. It is the same camp where other brilliant actresses like Natalie Portman attended. She was a sweet and quiet girl. She also started composing songs at thirteen years of age. While she was singing in a studio, she was over heard by a delivery man. This delivery man sent her CD to his friend who worked in A&R at Epic Records and Moore signed her first deal with the same company.

After signing with Epic Records, Moore started her musical career. She has toured with N’sync and Backstreet Boys. Her debut single “Candy” was a hit. Moore was often compared with fellow pop sensations like Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears. She has released six albums and the seventh one is in the pipeline. Her album So Real wasn’t really that great and generally received mixed reviews. In 2001, she changed her music from “bubblegum pop” to different a little soothing. Moore’s songs and albums have not really done that great but in totality, she has managed to sell more than 12.5 million albums worldwide. The albums did good in one country but not so good in the other. All in all, she did manage to be a commercial success. Not a huge one, but yes, she is a commercial success. Latest news is that she is doing her seventh album in collaboration with her husband, Ryan Adams.

After entering the music industry and putting down roots in the same, Moore ventured into the film industry. Mandy Moore lent her voice to a Girl Bear Cub in Dr. Dolittle 2. After this, she appeared in the Princess Diaries, playing the role of Lana Thomas. In the film, the song “Stupid Cupid” was performed by her. In 2002, Mandy Moore starred in the movie A Walk To Remember. The movie was based on the book by Nicholas Sparks. Though not critically appraised, it fared pretty well at the box office. In the year 2003, Moore starred in a romantic comedy titled How To Deal. Her following movie was Chasing Liberty. Both these films did not do well and received a lot of negative reviews although her acting was appreciated by a few. Moore has also guest starred in television series called Scrubs, How I Met Your Mother and Grey’s Anatomy. Moore went on to do movies like American Dreamz, License To Wed, Dedication, Swinging with the Finkels, Love, Wedding, Marriage, Hotel Noir and so on.

After trying her hand at singing and acting, Mandy Moore further dipped her toes in the fashion industry. She launched her own fashion line called Mblem. It is basically comprising of knitwear and cashmere. She aims at catering the needs of the taller women as she herself is 5’10”. The line was shut down in 2009.

She has worked with Population Services International and Five & Alive whereby addressing health problems facing children who are less than five years old and their families as well. PERSONAL LIFE

Mandy Moore has managed to keep her personal life pretty simple and quiet. She lists Blondie, Carole King, Shaina Twain, Madonna and Mariah Carey as some of her influences. Mandy Moore started dating Ryan Adams, a musician and got engaged to him in the year 2009. The couple tied the knot in March, 2009 in a beautiful wedding in Savannah, Georgia.
