Michael Elliot Epps, famously known as Mike Epps is an American actor, film producer, writer, stand-up comedian and rapper. The funny man from Indiana has made it big in Hollywood and has an estimated worth of over $6Million.

 

Early Life & Career

 

Epps was born in Indianapolis, Indiana at Wishard Hospital. His natural comedic ability was encouraged at an early age, and he then began performing stand-up as a teenager. He moved to Atlanta and worked at the Comedy Act Theater for several years before moving to Brooklyn in 1995. He began his professional career in ” Def Comedy Jam” the same year. @ years after his first broadcast on HBO, Epps’ first onscreen presence was felt in 1997 in Vin Diesel’s directorial debut “strays” In 1999 Epps’ career took a major change after Ice cube attended his stand-up set and asked Epps to audition for ” Day-Day jones”. This role was a breakthrough for Epps. Later that year Epps was seen in “3 strikes”, “Bait” and ” Next Friday”. Later Epps lent his voice to the movie “Dr. Dolittle 2″ as ‘Sonny’ and by the end of the year featured a role as a pimp in “How High”. Epps reunited with his lucky charm Ice cube in 2002 as his bounty hunter and ” all about the Benjamin” and in Friday saga’s entry “Friday After Next”. After Martin Lawrence declined to voice ‘Boog’ in “Open Season 2″, the role fell in Epps’ kitty. By 2010 Epps became a very common name in the streets of Hollywood. This escalated Epps’ comic career and he released a Stand-up comedy special, “Under rated and Never Faded”. Epps’ name become synonyms with humor and films with hilarious prominence of weed-smoking characters. Epps has tried his hands on music too. He did small parts in songs like, ” A bay bay”, “Gangsta Nation”, and he also made a song himself called ” Trying to Be a Gangsta”, and “Big girls”. Epps also has featured in rapper French Montana’s ‘Mac wit da Cheese’ mixtape which was released in 2009. Epps served as the “Super Bowl ambassador” for Indianapolis in 2012 Super Bowl. He was featured in commercials promoting the Super Bowl Village and he made special appearances in the Village during the week of the Super Bowl. Epps is currently working on a baseball-themed movie, entitled “Bad Behavior”, in which he plays the role of a coach. In all till date Epps has appeared in 37 films such as ” Resident Evil- Apocalypse”, “Guess who”, “Hancock”, and ” The Hang over” to name a few   and 11 Television appearance in series like “pimps up hoes down”, “BET Hip Hop Awards”  and over 15 music video appearances.

 

Controversy

 

Mike Epps’ 18 year old daughter Bria accused Epps of threatening her to Rape her. Later she pulled out evidence to prove that Epps threatened her. According to a report of TMZ, Epps and his daughter were angry with each other and after Epps told her that he wouldn’t give her college tuition personally, instead be paying the school directly. Bria was further annoyed after Epps went on “the wendy williams show” and didn’t include her in a shout out. Shortly after this news broke that the two got into a heated argument and Brian released a audio where Epps was cursing her.

 

Relationship

Epps married Michelle McCain in July 2006 and they currently live in Beverly Hills, California. He met her while filming The Fighting Temptations. McCain had a minor role in the movie as Epps’ character’s girlfriend.
Epps has also dedicated his time and money to the Tupac Amaru Shakur Foundation for the Arts in Georgia.
Epps has a daughter, Bria Epps, from a previous relationship in 1999.

Epps earns a fortune from Movies, stand-up comedy, film production, to name a few. He charges over $100,000 to appear in a film and over $50,000 for live tour.
Epps Resides in Beverly Hills in a $2million house and also has a small house in Indiana worth $450000.
Apart from spending his wealth on vacations, Epps has very high interest in cars. Epps owns 9 cars in total which includes a vintage car, hot rods and modern luxury vehicles with an estimated value of over $3million. Epps love to roll in his vintage 1964 Buick Riviera, with Gucci interior and custom audio system worth $75,000. He also owns a Vintage 1932 Ford T- bucket hot rod, worth $70,000.
