Born on September 1st, 1950 in Vinita, Oklahoma, he is the son of Dr. Joseph J. Joe McGraw, Jr who is a famous psychologist. Phil McGraw graduated in 1975 from Midwestern State University with a bachelor degree in psychology. He went on to earn a master’s degree in experimental psychology in 1976, and a Ph.D. degree in clinical psychology in 1979 at the University of North Texas. After working with his father for 10 years, in 1989 he co-founded the Courtroom Sciences Inc. He was working as a clinical psychologist and a self-help guru when Oprah Winfrey hired him. In 2001, McGraw went and purchased a black beauty. McGraw owns a 2001 Gemballa Porsche 911 Turbo, featuring an upgraded performance suspension, which was reported to be on an auction. Turbo comes equipped with a 3.8-liter turbo engine. The black beauty features a mind blowing exterior design along with stunning interiors. In 2002, Phil decided to upgrade his status. He went and bought a 2002 Ferrari 360 Spider, which is titanium in colour and has a blue convertible top. McGraw began dating Robin Jo Jameson, when he was annulling his first marriage.The couple then had two children, Jay and Jordan. Jay McGraw, has pretty much followed his father’s step by publishing books aimed at teenagers. He along with his father’s help started the television show “The Doctors”. Jay decided to tie the knot with Erica Dahm one of the famous playboy playmate triplets. Despite been against pornography, Phil was the best man at his son’s wedding.
