In 2005 Murdoch bought IGN entertainment for $650 million. In 1993, Murdoch acquired Star TV which is the biggest satellite TV network in the east.News Corp donated $1 million each to the Republican Governors Association and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, a group supporting Republican candidates.
