Parker was born in Ohio, in the year 1965, to the proud set of parents Barbara Parker and Stephan Parker. The couple had eight children, so she always lived in a house full of hustle bustle. Unfortunately, the couple divorced and later on, her mother married Paul Forste. Even though Parker has no religious training, she identifies with Judaism. Parker was talented even as a child. She is trained in ballet and singing. Her family was very supportive and moved to New York only for her special training. Parker attended Dwight Morrow High School. After that, she attended the School of American Ballet in New York City.
CAREER
Parker, along with four of her siblings, were a part of a production of The Sound of Music at an outdoor Municipal Theatre in St. Louis, Missouri. She even played a role in the Broadway musical Annie. In the 1982, Parker was the co-lead in the sitcom Square Pegs. This role brought Parker a lot of position reviews. After this, she was in four films, Footloose, Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, being the major hits. By the time 1990s came, Parker had a good reputation in the industry and her career was gathering its speed. She, further, did movies like Honeymoon in Vegas, Hocus Pocus, Striking Distance, Ed Wood, Miami Rhapsody, Mars Attack!, The First Wives Club, and The Substance of Fire. Ed Wood was a critically acclaimed movie that proved to be very good for Parker’s career.
In 1998, it appeared as if a separate era had generated for Parker, with the HBO series Sex and the City. The series took her on a whole different journey. She even won an Emmy Award for her lead role in the very same series. The series ended in 2004. Almost as soon as the series ended, there were rumors about a film based on the same series. The first film was released in 2008 and the second installment was released in 2010.
Apart from Parker’s stunt as a commercial actor on television and the silver screen, she did a lot of stage acting with plays like Sylvia and Once Upon a Mattress. In 2005, she appeared in the movie titled The Family Stone. Following this movie, Parker did movies like Failure to Launch and Spinning Into Butter. Parker guest starred in the hit series Glee as a Vogue executive. Apart from this, Parker owns a production company.
