Introduction:

Satya Nadella’s full name is Satya Narayana Nadella. He was born in the year 1967 in Anantapur district of Andhra Pradesh, India. The present CEO of Microsoft was gifted by god to B. N. Yugandhar who was an IAS officer and to Prabhavati Yugandhar, who is the mother.

Education Life:

Nadella completed his schooling at Hyderabad Public School in Begumpet. His favorite subject was maths. After that he went for his graduation and attained a bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics from Manipal Institute of Technology, Manipal, Karnataka. He did not stop his studies there and went for higher studies to US and earned an MS degree in Computer Science from university of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and also he did his MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

Family life:

Nadella married Anupama Priyadarshini in the year 1992. She was the daughter of his father’s IAS batch mate, K.R. Venugopal. They have 3 children’s (two with special needs), two daughters and one son. The family has been staying in Bellevue, Washington, USA. It is the 6th wealthiest of 522 communities in the state of Washington.

Interests:

Apart from currently what he is doing now there are many other things which interests him. He is an avid reader of American and Indian poetry and like every other Indian he too is fond of cricket. He has played cricket for his School team during his schooling.He feels that playing cricket has taught him how to work in a team. Before being appointed as CEO Nadella earned a base salary of $7000,000  and also used to receive an additional $7.6 million compensation in the form of stock options and bonuses. He has played a major role in Microsoft’s transition to cloud computing. The cloud version of Microsoft Office called Office 365, one of Microsoft’s best products ever was brought to Microsoft’s cloud service under the guidance of Nadella. He has played a monumental role in bringing Microsoft’s most successful and popular technologies like its database, Windows server and developer tools to its cloud service Azure. Nadella feels that he is lucky to work for many accomplished and inspiring people like Doug Burgum who was the founder of Great Plains, Jeff Raikes who is now the CEO of the Gates Foundation and with Steve Ballmer.

As soon as Satya Nadella was announced as the new CEO of the Microsoft there was a swept in cyber world and he became the new buzz on social networking sites and also on newspaper and televisions. After joining as the new CEO of Microsoft Nadella’s annual salary has been increased to $1.2 Million. That’s not all after he has become CEO. It is expected that under Microsoft’s Executive Incentive Program (EIP), Nadella will be eligible for a cash award of up to 300% of his salary earned as CEO during the remainder of fiscal year 2014 and all of fiscal year 2015. Also for the company’s 2015 fiscal year, Nadella seems to be  eligible for a stock award of $13.2 million.  

Nadella’s compensation is reportedly higher than his previous salary of $675,000 and substantially more than the $700,000 earned by former CEO Steve Ballmer in Microsoft’s previous financial year. According to a report in Wall Street Journal, Nadella’s base salary will be 70% higher than the base pay received by Steve Ballmer. Also it has been heard that if Microsoft’s 5-year Relative TSR is at 80th  percentile or above, Nadella will get 900,000 shares and If it is at 30th  percentile or less than he gets 150,000 shares. So can be expected that there will be a huge growth in his wealth and also he may enter into the completion of “how are the richest” .
