Sonny moore was born on January 15,1988 in Highland park a place near northeast los Angeles,but when he was two his family moved to forest hill near San Francisco.But when he was 12 his family moved back to his birth place Highland park where he was admitted to a school specialising in arts.Bullied and tortured moore was then home schooled at the age of 14.In his early year Sonny attended Punk gigs in Mexican American neighbourhoods in east and south Los Angeles and later at electro club raves in the downtown’s silver lake and Echo park.

An aspiring guitarist and a singer Sonny contacted Matt good about playing guitar in their debut album and flied to Georgia to audition.He was heard singin by three studio producers,derrick Thomas,Eric dale, and Mchale butler and was made the lead singer alongside Matt good playing guitar.In june 2004, sonny’s first full length record was released by Epitaph records DEAR DIARY,MY TEEN ANGST HAS A BODY COUNT.The album was a huge hit and moore went on many successful tours after it.His next major success was in the form of his next album Heroine.A huge hit in the market moore went on many tours and concerts until he started suffering vocal problems.Moore permanently resigned from the band after his vocal surgical procedure to concentrate on his solo career.
After persuing with his solo career Moore started a page on myspace releasing three demo’s SIGNAL,EQUINOX AND GLOW WORM.After his successful demos Moore went on various tours and concerts.
In 2008,Sonny started producing and was known as Skrillex at clubs around Los Angeles.His official debut as skrillex was on june 7,2010 with his album MY NAME IS SKRILLEX.Moore then gave his services to various other bands and artists like bring me the horizon and deadmau5.Later in the year he signed with mau5trap recordings and released his second album SCARY MONSTERS AND NICE SPRITES.Moore then gave the best shot of his career by kicking off the “project blue book tour” in 2011 with support from Porter Robinson,tommy lee and dj aero.Skrillex unveiled many new songs on this tour like FIRST OF THE YEAR(Equinox), REPTILE AND CINEMA.Many of his songs are used in tv commercials. Skrillex was then approaches by sony computer entertainment to use his song Kill EVERYBODY for their plastation 3 game Uncharted 3.
His next major release was “More monsters and sprites” which was released on beatport which consisted of three tracks,including first of the year.a leaked track “ruffneck bass” was leaked on the internet months before the release of the album.Skrillex then released his next single hit “rock n roll” on youtube.
On august 17, 2011 Srillex released his music label OWSLA .Labels first release was from Bristol based dubstep producer KOAN sound,Porter Robinson , Alvin Risk and M-Machine.On November 8,Skrillex stated that he would release his next album voltage.But for some unknown reasons the album was never released .But then the biggest hit of his career came in the form of his next single BANGARANG which was released on beatport.
Omn november 6, 2012 Skrillex released a limited edition triple vinyl box set.Skrillex composed the song “bug hunt” for the 2012 animated film wreck-it ralph, as well as making a brief cameo as a dj in the film’s first act, and in december 2012,”make it bun dem” is used in as a looped variant during the single player mission’kick the hornets nest’ in the video game Far cry 3.
