Vivica Anjanetta Fox is an actress and television producer of African-American origin with a net worth of $82 milllion. She was born on July 30, 1964 in South Bend, Indiana. She made a mark in her career with the soap opera ‘Days of our Lives’ and did a number of television shows and films thereafter. The major breakthrough of her career were the movies ‘Independence Day’, ‘Soul Food’ and the 2001 film ‘Two can Play that Game’. Since then her career graph has been increasing and she has acquired prominent roles in films and TV. She is also an active philanthropist and understand her responsibilities as a public figure.


Early Life:

Vivica was born to Everylena Fox, a pharmaceutical technician and William Fox, a private school administrator. She did her schooling from Arlington High Schol in Indiana polis and is a college graduate from Golden West College, California. Her parents divorced when she was just three years old and was raised by her mother. She has been a versatile person since her childhood and was involved in every school activity from choir, cheerleading to basketball. She was an active child and enjoyed roller skating a lot. Besides sports, Vivica was fascinated with Hollywood celebrities and fashion. After completing her school, she moved to Los Angeles with the dream of becoming an actress.

Fox’s first break in the acting field was a television commercial for Clearasil. She had to face several failures before she got to sign the show in 1988 with a recurring role on the ABC drama China Beach. She then landed a role in the popular soap opera ‘Days of our Lives’ which brought her under the lime light. Her first break on big screen was the role of a prostitute in Oliver Stone’s film ‘Born on the Fourth of July’ (1989).  She then made appearances on more popular shows and films. Fox played the role of Jasmine, a mother who works as a stripper at night to support her family and later becomes the film’s heroine for saving the first lady from an alien invasion. The success of Indepence Day not only brought stardom and glamour for Fox, but also roles in films like Batman &Robin (1997), Booty Call (1997), Why Do fools fall in Love (1998) and Idle Hands (1999). Her next major was the 2001 film the ‘Two Can Play That Game’. The recent films in which Vivica has made appearances are Juwanna Mann in 2002, Kill Bill: Vol. 1 in 2003 and Ella Enchanted in 2004. She was also a participant in the popular reality dance show ‘Dancing with the Stars’ in the year 2006. She has also hosted the reality shows Glam God with Vivica A. Fox in 2008 and The Cougar in 2009. She also judged the WB’s talent show ‘The Starlet’ and made appearance on an episode of ‘The Game’.

Fox owns a house worth $1.368 million in Bridlewood Estates, Los Angeles. It is a 4640 square feet house with 5-bedrooms and four bathrooms. The house was built in 2002 which she had in 2003 for $825, 500. It is Mediterranean style house with zebra prints and art décor throughput. The house has a bonus room with a pool table and a lounge area with an attractive backyard that has a lush landscape, a pool and spa plus a covered patio. She however sold this house seven years later for $1.25 million.

Vivica Fox was married to singer Christopher Harvest in the year 1998, who performs under Sixx-Nine. Their marriage broke after four years and they divorced in 2002. In 2003, she dated the rapper 50 cent. She was arrested on the suspicion for DUI on March 20, 2007. In 2009, she became the spokesperson for Psychic Friends network. However, she received a backlash for her role in the network but Vivica turned down all the allegations.

Charity Work:

Vivica fox is an active social activist and is associated with several charities. She was the keynote speaker at the Janice Ardell Arnold (JAA) Foundation charity workshop in Washington D.C. She spoke about raising awareness about domestic abuse and safety for girls. She is associated with foundations like Gibson Girl Foundation, Jackson Memorial Foundation and the Heart Truth. The major social issues for which she has contributed are Aids and HIV, cancer, creative arts, Health and women. On February 7 2014, she organized the Vivica A. Fox Charity event for the victims of Haiti. Women empowerment is her major concern and she once said that she is glad that girl power is working in Hollywood.
