She is particularly known for her role of Sam Puckett on the Nickelodeon sitcom iCarly and for her role in currently on air series Sam and Cat. Jennette McCurdy was born in Garden Grove, California, on June 26, 1992. As a child she gained interest in acting after watching Harrison Ford in Star Wars. She wanted to be an actress from the time when she was as small as seven years old. She started her acting career at the young age of eight, on MAD TV. McCurdy got the chance to act with her inspiration, Harrison Ford in the 2003 movie Hollywood Homicide. Some other notable roles for Jennette include, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Lincoln Heights, and role of Bertha in Fred: The Movie based on a You Tube series about Fred Figglehorn. She has had a starring role on the iCarly series which airs on Nickelodeon since 2007.

McCurdy is an active supporter of the Cody Waters Foundation, she was also active in campaigns such as stopping child soldiers (she is in the Invisible Children Inc. group and the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
