Lambert was a very early bloomer. He got his first job at the age of 19. The job entailed him performing at a cruise ship for a period of ten months. Following that stunt, he performed in light opera in the Orange County. When he was only 21, he was cast in a tour of Hair that had to take place in Europe. This tour really helped Lambert in getting to know himself. In the year 2004, he appeared in a few local productions like Brigadoon and 110 in the Shade. During this phase as well, he wasn’t really well known, even though he did get a lot of praise for his acting in the various productions in which he was involved. Lambert’s career sort of twisted for the good when he decided to appear for an audition of the eighth season of the American Idol series.
American Idol seriously changed him as a person and also, as an artist- a musician. The show also got him a lot of fame and success. For his initial audition, he performed on the songs Bohemian Rhapsody and Rock With You. During the competition itself, several pictures were leaked of Lambert kissing a man. When he was asked about the same, he openly said that he was gay and that he had always been pretty straight forward about it. The pictures made him even more famous, but did not affect the competition that much.
The first album released by him was titled For Your Entertainment. The album was a raging success. Lambert has also worked in collaboration with a lot of other musicians like Pink, Justin Hawkins, Linda Perry and so on. In his career, Lambert has been open to a lot of different things.
