His parents got divorced when Pacino was only two years old. After the divorce, the mother moved back with her parents near Bronx Zoo. His father moved to Covina, California, and there he worked as an insurance salesman and restaurateur. His pet name while growing up was “Sonny”. He wanted to become a basketball player.
