Due to his striking resemblance to Bruno Sammartino (a wrestling legend), his father started calling him Bruno. Though they had nothing in common as Peter was not one bit interested in wresting; he rather spent his day listening to hip-hop, rock, reggae and R&B music.

His co-writing with Flo Rida on “Right Round” and “Billionaire” with Travis McCoy got him climbing the ladder of fame instantly. Both these songs were featured in Top Ten hits. He also collaborated with rapper B.o.B on Nothin’ on You. He took advantage of the momentum and launched his solo career by releasing his debut album called “Doo-Woops and Hooligans”. He established himself with this album as it peaked at number 3 on Billboards 200. His hits like ‘Grenade’ and ‘Just the way You are’ quickly became number one singles worldwide. At the 53rd Grammy Awards he received seven Grammy nominations and won best male pop vocal for his single ‘Just the Way You are’.  His success story continued with the release of his second album “Unorthodox” which was released in December 2012.
