Born on March 2, 1977 in Whitestone England, Martin is the eldest in the family of five children of an accountant dad and a music teacher mother. Chris Martin started schooling at Hylton pre-preparatory School. His musical career commenced while at Exeter Preparatory Cathedral School where together with other pupils they formed a band. He joined Sherbone Boys School and later University College where he not only advanced his musical career but also met the members of Cold Play Band.
