Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson Net Worth, Money & More
NET WORTH: $64.5 MILLION
CAREER: ACTOR, PROFESSIONAL WRESTLER
“The Rock”, hailed as the highest paid actor this year by Forbes Magazine, literally started from the rock bottom with just $7 in his pocket. With the multiple blockbuster movies he’s starred in, Dwayne has $64.5 million from June 2015 to June 2016, surpassing Jackie Chan who earned $61 million.
He came from a poor family and was determined to get his family back up from their previous situation. His father was a professional wrestler too and Johnson felt like it was his true calling. So by 1996, he has signed up with World Wrestling Foundation and has been known as The Rock since.
The Rock has been listed as one of the all-time greatest professional wrestlers as well as one of the top box office draws in wrestling history. He was described as the WWE’s biggest star and probably held the greatest international appeal. He is the first wrestler to win the WWF/E Championship six times, and then seven times.
Dwayne has been successful with what he called his true calling, but what he might not have expected though is a career in Hollywood, and a very successful one at that too. Johnson broke into the mainstream with roles in the blockbuster action films The Mummy Returns in 2001 and The Scorpion King in 2002, the action comedy The Rundown in 2003 and the remake of Walking Tall in 2004. He also appeared in the fifth film of The Fast and the Furious film series, starred in the adventure sequel film Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, became known to reinvigorate film franchises after portraying Roadblock in G.I. Joe: Retaliation, and Luke Hobbs, in Fast & Furious 6. He starred in Hercules, as the title character and appeared again in Furious 7.
On May 3, 1997, Dwayne married Dany Garcia and they were both blessed with an angel, Simone Alexandra, on August 14, 2001. However, just a few years after that, (June 1, 2007) they announced they were splitting up and intended to remain friends. Soon after the divorce, The Rock has immediately moved on and started going out with Lauren Hashian, who he met in 2006 while filming the Game Plan. And in December 2015, they had their first daughter named Jasmine.
