It would not be wrong to say that Glenn Beck is man of many talents. He is a television host, radio host, producer, entrepreneur, author and commentator. Beck led the founding stone of Mercury Radio Arts and is currently its CEO too. The man is neither short of supporters nor critics because of the strong wave of thoughts and wide mouth!

His upbringing

Born in Everett, Washington Beck was the son to William Beck and Mary Clara. The family owned a bakery store in the city of Mount Vernon. Beck was a Roman Catholic and did his schooling from Immaculate Conception Catholic School.  His parents divorced later and Beck and his sister were raised by his mother. However, the sudden demise of his mother by drowning left the children orphan. They then went to their father in Birmingham.

Glenn Beck indeed makes a lot of money! His money is accredited to his world-wide popular radio show The Glenn Beck Program and a prime time news show on Fox Channel. He is also the author of six best-selling books. Glenn is also the founder of Mercury Radio Arts, a production company which produces content for radio, internet, television and publishing houses. In the year 2009, he earned a sum of 60 million dollars.

Upward rising career

Glenn Beck’s career was a huge umbrella encompassing author television, radio and entrepreneurship.

Radio:

He started to work with the radio broadcast at a very early age. He worked with the KZFM and then shifted to WRKA to be a disk jockey. He was also a part of KOY-FM. He was however fired in 1990 due to his harsh and debatable comments. Beck then had to face a hard time when he was fired again from WKCI-FM along with his partner Gray. However, year 2000 marked a new benchmark in the career of Beck when he joined the WFLA. The station was ranked 4th and had half a million listeners world-wide.

Television:

In the year 2006, Beck joined the television world with CNN as a host of a commentary show, THE HEADLINE PRIME. Few years later, Beck shook hands with the Fox channel where he hosted “Glenn Beck”. His shows had a huge viewership but it came at a cost. Because of his comments, Glenn was always surrounded by controversies.

Books:

Beck has great talents as an author and wrote many genres of books including fictional, non-fictional and children’s books. His fictional books include Agenda 21, The Snow Angel and The Christmas Sweater. His also wrote non-fictional books like The Original Argument: The Federalists’ Case for the Constitution, Adapted for the 21st Century, with Joshua Charles, Being George Washington: The Indispensable Man: As You’ve Never Seen Him, Cowards and many more.

 

Marital status: Married

Glenn tied knots in the year 83 with Claire, and has two daughters from this marriage with the name of Hannah and Mary. But the marriage broke in ’94 because Glenn became greatly involved in drugs. He also tried to commit suicide but soon he became sober after attending the meetings of Alcoholics Anonymous. Later in 1999, Beck married Tania and has two kids from this marriage, Raphe and Cheyenne. The couple also joined the Church of Jesus Christ was Beck was later baptized.

Controversies:

With the heavy incoming flow of money, there came a huge attitude in Beck. He made many controversial comments on various political matters and politicians. He did not even feared calling the President of the nation, Mr. Obama a “Racist”. He had to face a huge criticism for his comments and then later apologized from the same.

Beck also opened his “big fat mouth” against Van Jones by calling him a communist and criticizing him for being a part of STORM. He also violated the cyber law by his website’s objectionable name. Later, he had to give up on the domain name.

He also made harsh comments on the Norway attacks and was heavily criticized by the citizens of Norway. He was also called “bigoted ignorant” because of his comments on Reforming Judaism.

Philanthropy:

Beck is a great philanthropist and a generous donator. He was the founder of Mercury One and he also worked with a clothing chain aimed for poor and destitute. He was also an active participant in many campaigns and projects like Restoring Rally, Tea Party Campaign, 9-12 Project, 2011 International Tour, America‘s First Christmas.
