During his college days, he was the member of the Miami Hurricanes football team. He compiled 81 tackles, two sacks and four pass deflections. Ray Lewis received his first-team All American and All-Big East honors in the sophomore season. After the 1995 season Ray decided to forgo his sinal year of college eligibility and begin his career in NFL draft. He was selected for the first time, in the year 1996 for the NFL De=raft. He played for the Baltimore Revens for the period 1996-2012. In the year 1997, he received his first Pro Bowl after recording 120 tackles, three sacks and two interceptions. In the year 2000, Ray Lewis led a defense which may call the greatest in NFL history for a single season which is really a breakthrough. In the year 2001, Ray earned a fifth consecutive Pro Bowl selection and later he played less due to his shoulder injury but still remembered his work though he is retired now. 2012 is the final year of his career and suffered with torn triceps. Lewis final career NFL game was Super Bowl XLVII.
