Best Recognized by and loved for the role of Nathan Scott which he portrayed in WB teenage drama series One Tree Hill, James Lafferty was born in 1985 in Hemet, California to parents Angie and Jeff Lafferty. He attended school at Hemet High School and enrolled in California State University, Long Beach. His parents own a local business of a construction firm in Hemet but they always encouraged James and his brother Stuart to act as a hobby. While shooting for the final season of One Tree Hill, James Lafferty got caught up in the middle of a controversy when his role was cut short and his appearance in the series finale was uncertain. However, the studio and James reached a deal and eventually James returned to North Carolina in order to film for the series finale. Another controversy stirred up while Lafferty was dating co actor Sophia Bush who was earlier married to another lead actor from One Tree Hill, Chad Michael Murray. Chad confirmed Sophia and James relationship in 2008 by quoting “Sophia and I are both professional and mature enough to get through it. And now it’s just easy. We’re just friends. She’s got James, and James and I are friends.”
