She speaks Russian and English fluently and identifies herself as a Russian, Serbian and Ukrainian. Her family moved to London when she was five years old and later to Los Angeles. Milla attended public schools in Los Angeles. She was teased by classmates in school for coming from the Soviet Union and was called a Russian spy.She left seventh grade when she was 12 to focus on modelling. She admits to being rebellious during her early teens, engaging in drug use, shopping mall vandalism, and credit-card fraud.

She has also appeared for various campaigns like Revlon, H&M, Giorgio Armani, Coach, Banana Republic, Christian Dior, Damiani, Calvin Klein and DKNY. Jovovich datedformer Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist John Frusciante, for seven months in 2000. Jovovich was also romantically involved with poet and musician, Anno Birkin until his death in a car accident on November 8, 2001.

 

Jovovich is currently married to film writer and director Paul W. S. Anderson whom she met while working on the film Resident Evil. They got married in August of 2009 and have a daughter- Ever Gabo Anderson.
